We were recommended by tripadvisor, is separated from the tourist areas and was very quiet. It was Sunday and the kitchen is open all day. very grata was the attention of the waitress, a young German with concerns in Spanish and defended himself very well, very friendly and attentive, as is patrik, the chef. we shared personal stories, photos of our children and helped us make the tourist planning. Some charms. Food: is good, not extensive. We ask for a typical sausage to start, they serve you a salad per person, the main dishes were the bleu cord that serve with potatoes (freezes) and a pasta with chicken and mushrooms (nata). Both dishes were good. There were burgers, meats, etc. but we wanted to try the typical things here. It's not our Mediterranean food, but we didn't look for that either. We recommend it. the price is good with respect to other more touristic areas.

After living in Heidelberg off and on for 10 years with the US Army, I thought I knew most of the good places to eat. But I just found another gem. It is the Weisser Stein in Handschuheim. The prices, especially the Monday Schnitzel Day, were very competitive but the real find was the quality of the food and location. It is one street off the main street of Handschuheim in a quiet residential neighborhood with lovely hidden inner courtyard. The crowing jewel was Patrick the owner. He took time for a nice conversation that made us feel like locals.

We went on tour to Heidelberg and ended up here because we heard the schnitzel was good from locals and they were absolutely right! We got all sorts and everyone was happy. My three kids loved it too. The one who didn't eat schnitzel ate a lamb burger and enjoyed it a lot. It was great value and affordable. Service was solid, it was convenient and easy, we loved sitting outdoors, and the drinks were flowing. We are definitely going back whenever near Heidelberg!

Our group from the U.S was brought here by a local family to enjoy some schnitzel. We would never have found such an authentic place on our own. The service was warm and welcoming, the food delicious and plentiful and the atmosphere relaxing and enjoyable. The owner came out to welcome us to Germany. It was a wonderful place to start our tour of Germany!
