Firstly we were sat in the bar, 4 of us with our dog, not the restaurant which maybe the majority of the reviews were based on? The restaurant looks fancier with lovely views. The service was ok, a couple of issues with my daughter’s drinks and her meal was given to another table so we had to wait for that which is never good. Friendly staff. Had to ask for menus having been shown to our table then forgotten about. The food was good but like with many of the other reviews it is very expensive. We thought we’d try it as a treat but were disappointed. The mussels were very gritty. The plaice was really nice but pricey. The king prawns fiddly. We turned up at 14:00 today and were told the kitchen was busy so we would have to order drinks while we waited after one hour we received a tiny piece of makeral and about a dozen moules as starters we enquired if and when we would get a main course and the waiter rudely said he had no idea the restaurant was on obviously totally over booked for lunch and no hope of serving us so we left so the whole experience was a complete waste of time ... Avoid unless they up their game
We had dinner in the restaurant to celebrate our Anniversary and the evening was perfect. Seated in a romantic quiet area by the window as requested and the service was spot on. Every course of food was delicious and the Orange wine too! We are staying at a well known Hotel nearby in Burnham Market that is more expensive, but not as good quality as The White Horse. So glad we chose to eat here. Thank you.
Not one of our best visits…l had the Brancaster mussels which ld been looking forward to all day but oh dear ..half of them were uncooked and still closed tightly…not what ld expect from this famous fish restaurant. Luckily we had an amazing waiter who swiftly sorted the issue and brought me a fresh bowl of mussels…that’s the way to sort such situations out ..l Will definately return … Réservez une table maintenant
The food is delicious, very well prepared and presented with fresh seafood an absolute must if you dine here. The service was faultless, in particular a shout out and big “thank you” goes to Nathan who made my birthday lunch a really lovely,experience. All together a wonderful time was had by both of us and we’ll definitely be back.
We came for the Mussel Festival. Our large garden room (8) was very tastefully co-ordinated with good quality attractive furnishings. Good touches, like offering fresh milk daily and newspapers. Our every need was attended to by Rob and his staff. Fran Hartshorne's food was exquisite. The mussels were heavenly!
Excellent service, beautiful view, nice buzz to the place and the food was superb. Belly pork for me, mackerel for my friend, then for mains plaice and steak, all cooked to perfection. The steak was the most tasty I have eaten in years. Réservez une table maintenant
