Wintzell's Oyster House Montgomery

If don 't judge a book by its cover applies anywhere, it 's Wintzell 's Oyster House. The greeter actually seemed less than pleased to see us, and carried herself like she really doesn 't like her job... ... but! Remember the whole book/cover thing, our server was really friendly and attentive. I started with a cup of their award- winning gumbo. I don 't know what award it won, but it certainly was delicious! For my main course, I ordered the broiled seafood platter that came with 4 char grilled oysters, some shrimp, some scallops and white fish. our first time here and really enjoyed it. there were not so many people, but a good little lunch. when we entered, their health score was next to the Hostess stand and was a 74. we sat immediately and served drinks in five minutes. we ordered two garne stews, one with coleslaw the other with French fries. the fried garnelen was absolutely delicious! they were very nice big and crispy. the cocktail went with him very well by adding a light spicy. we also got the baked oysters with speck, cheese and jalapeños. when it first tried to taste baked oysters, they were really good. our food came to us in about 20 minutes. we enjoyed everything on our plate again!

fantastic! excellent waitress! raw oysters the coldest and best I ever had! all the escaped were great beside my men steak was not much too frying. he had a scratch. my daughter had the sirloin who was as tasty as it could be and super tender! the garnel and grottes were devine! I think the most tasteful little garnel I ever had! the reddish was also a big hit. we loved eating so well we go back tonight! do not find any raw oysters just everywhere. the brotpudding definitiw the best I ever had. we got the loaded and it had candied pecans over everything!!! as omg was this meal fantastic! I loved it!

We were at a conference for work and we all went out for dinner as a group. I applaud for waitress for being able to handle the large group of people we had. I ordered the crab cakes as an appetizer and the fried catfish dinner. It was so much food for the cost and it was all so delicious. I will definitely be back whenever I am in town. incredibly cool ambiente, from the hundreds of plaques on the wall, with all these interesting sayings all the way to the crabs fall on the deck. great service, perfectly placed near the riverwalk inside city. eating was amazing. definitiw the additional calorie worth.

There was a long wait but that’s because they were short staffed. Being it’s Memorial Day weekend, call outs are inevitable. The food was good fresh and hot! We’re from GA so we wanted seafood from the coast and Wintzell’s in Montgomery AL didn’t disappoint!

Amazing atmosphere, wonderful food. I ordered catfish plate and it was great! Also had the oyster sampler and again I had all of them! Sat with the shucker and he was great! Thanks for such a great experience!

Great restaurant really enjoyed it, had low country boil and collard greens, so good. For reference I travel both domestically and internationally around 100 nights per year eating all sorts of local foods. Réservez une table maintenant

are they willing to drop a little money here. the cajun seafood pasta is super amazing, and the oysters were very fresh! her house hot sauce is really delicious!

Stopped in for a quick happy hour. The oysters were relatively fresh. The service was great. The waitress was friendly and courteous.
