it was a happy day when our friend sanjay recommended to go to mysore woodlands, a South Indian place he had found in parsippany. Finally, udipi in montclair, our favorite restaurant has been closed for over 10 years and we were desperate for a new source for our south indian fix. Imagine our surprise when we went to mysore woodlands and were greeted by lokesh, the former owner of the udipi village! it was like a family meeting and sure eating was as great as it was in udipi. amazing idli and sambar with exactly the right amount of seasoned, the children had their dosa and uttapam, and we all filled us on the buffet. We went to Mysore Woodlands and were really impressed. The buffet (with bonus chat AND dosa or uttapam on Tuesday and Friday, when we went) was $12/each, and the food was really good. They were able to point out which items were vegan and which were not with no trouble, and were happy to make vegan dosas and uttapam for us. The amount of food was pretty incredible, we got two full meals each out of it for pretty cheap. It was a bit tricky to find, it 's on the north side of rt 46 (you have to be heading west to turn into it); and russo plaza doesn 't have a sign with that name so you just have to look for the woodlands sign.
We were at Mysore's buffet and we're lucky enough to sit next to someone who understood what vegan meant. Delicious food! At Woodlands, they don't speak good English and we ended up with yogurt on our plate. My only other negative comment is that they should indicate heat levels. Some of our food was too hot (spicy) for us, while others were not. Best to look at pics before coming if you are vegan.
Definitely surprised by the clean ambiance and piping hot yummy food. The bajji reminded me of Bangalore bonda/bajji Scene. we tried mirchi bajji or mensinakayi bajji.. it was tooo good.. we additionally tried Pulao and bisibelebath both were excellent totaste… esp pulao was spot on.. highly recommend this restaurant for some good Karnataka/ South Indian style food

This restaurant was impressive. The medu vada was light and airy, not at all heavy or greasy. The dosas were outstanding—crispy, flavorful, and generously filled. The samosa chaat was absolutely delightful. I only wish I lived nearby so I could dine here more often.
I loved their Mysore dosas and Woodlands Kara Dosa! They serve it hot and tasty. And their spring dosa has lot of vegetables stuffing made me feel full and healthy! It's a must try!
Okay okay.The taste is Indian alright,but servings of sambhar chutney too small.Plastic spoons thermocol utensils make it unhealthy.The restaurant is clean
I dined at Woodlands Cafe for the first time two weeks ago, and I've been coming back every week since!

Best Rava Pondicherry Dhosa I have ever had, Chrispy and tasty. Decent priced menu items.
The food at Woodlands Cafe is fairly priced, but I would appreciate larger portion sizes.
