Woodys Bar And Lakeview Restaurant

Visited Woodys on many occasions over the past 8 years but the last 6 months or so the food quality quantity has gone down hill with prices going up staff turnover is high. Staff at times are obviously very busy yet witnessed a new manager walking around doing very little and talking down to staff the lady with short blonde hair (think her name is Angela) and her colleague John are friendly and work hard, often battling queues at the bars with both wedding guests as well as walkers yet with a smile on their face some cheery banter when they can take a breath they do try to make a visitor’s experience positive so its disappointing as a customer to hear management make disparaging comments to...

The carvery at this restaurant was disappointing. The beef was tough, the turkey was bland, and the cauliflower cheese was undercooked with sauce poured on top of raw cauliflower. The wine and beer were fine, and the waitresses were okay. The bartender was unfriendly, which was disappointing given his role in the hospitality industry. This experience reaffirmed why I dislike carveries. Unfortunately, there was no one to address our complaints. The fireworks display was not as impressive as in previous years; I suggest adding £1 to provide a longer display. The restaurant's location was still lovely, but the food was lacking. On a positive note, the garage shop at the entrance was excellent....

Table booked and was ready on arrival Ordered bottle of white wine glass were strait from dishwasher wiped my glass dry . Wine ended less child than desired I ordered Ancaster sausage and bun with chips the chips were not hot on delivery and the bun dry the 2 sausages were not the length of the bun .The were issues with meals with other members of the group.We raised the issues with manager and the to price of a meal and the wine off . The plus points the steak was good. Would I visit again no would I recommend no.

Slow, unprepared and borderline rude. Arrived 2pm, told thy had a hold on ordering food. Had to wait 1.5 hours to order food. Only managed 2 rounds of drinks as at times only one staff member on the bar and large queue. Ordered whitebait special £6.95 literally got 6 small whitebait and a garnish. Shocking value for money. Waitress staff were nice hence the 2 stars not 1. No apologies from the bar staff who were mega stressed. Avoid busy times as they simply can’t cope despite not being what I would class as busy! The service we received at this restaurant after booking our Christmas party was absolutely terrible. The beer tasted as if the pipes hadn't been cleaned in months and the service staff were very rude. We will never go back there again as it was a complete waste of time.

Stopped off on the way back from a (coffee machine) rescue mission from the weekend. Great staff. Very helpful. Drinks reasonable prices. Ordered the burger and the vegan hotdog. Both meals delicious. Will be back when up this way again.

The food at this restaurant is excellent and the staff is very polite. I would suggest mentioning that the apple tarte tatin contains raisins, as I cannot eat them. The atmosphere is also very pleasant. Thank you, Broomfield family.

Awesome place would recommend to anyone,great restaurant and bar reasonably priced, great atmosphere freindly staff even the music in the background is great 10/10 !!!! Hands down better than anywhere I've stayed so far ! Réservez une table maintenant

Nice place , good tasting food, alittle expensive but very pleasant. Log burner keeps room nice and warm. Could do with more staff, bar staff seemed rushed and flustered

Don’t order extra tomby !!!!!!! £1.75 for a small boat Very Clit. Nice however friendly bar.
