Third visit in 6 months but third time left feeling disappointed - every time due to feeling the place just wants money out of you. Took the family on first night of their holiday, 8 of us turned up on a Monday night, 2 of the group weren't very hungry but wanted small dishes, 1 was gluten free so wanted to order separately and the rest wanted the more expensive of the two banquets. We have been regular visitors to the Surry Hills area for many years and every so often we would visit the restaurant for its cheap, quick and tasty Vietnamese dishes. Sometime somewhere it appears they have changed either chefs or cooking methods. We were very disappointed on our recent visit as the food was so bland and reminded us of those old style Australian/Chinese restaurants in country towns, whatever happened to this beautiful Vietnamese herbs, spices and flavours?
I was there with friends for dinner and ordered chicken and peanut salad. It was a big serve and tasted very fresh and delicious. The service was ok just thought the staff was in a bit of a hurry to remove our plates, some were not empty yet but overall cannot complaint.I would go back again as they seem to have a good variety of dishes and they all sound delicious and fresh, good on the Chef!
I dined here with my Vietnamese friend we ordered rice paper rolls -Mixed chicken, beef, prawn with hoisin peanut sauce. It was so tiny/ kids size compared to the ones from other Vietnamese restaurants. We liked the Slow-cooked beef curry with lotus root. The staff were slow and not attentive, it took 30 minutes for the meal to come outYou're paying for the location.

Fast and delicious Vietnamese cuisine with a variety of options. Perfect for a quick and casual meal. The staff is very friendly and the service is great. The grilled prawns and Vietnamese salads are particularly tasty. There are a few small outdoor tables and plenty of indoor seating with sliding doors that open up for a spacious feel.
Ordered dinner with dessert, they said dessert was not offered, however they had 3 on their website? Instead we ended up having to pay for a dish we hadn't ordered. Went back a couple of nights later for a snow pea and cabbage dish, got the cabbage but no snow peas, expensive and not really value for money. Disappointed with Xage
I really really like xage, super cool and super cool food. All the food is really fresh and has great flavours. The staff are really friendly and they even bring water to the table without asking for it. If you like Vietnamese food and you are in Surry Hills then look no further!
This restaurant is truly special. It offers authentic Vietnamese cuisine with a unique twist. The staff is incredibly friendly, and we highly recommend taking advantage of the BYO option like we did.

This is a very informal place with flavour full Vietnamese food. There's a good choice but it's best to book ot get there early as it can be quite crowded. Good atmosphere opening up onto the street.
I had a great experience dining at this Vietnamese restaurant. The prices were reasonable and the location was charming, tucked away off the street. The dessert was absolutely delicious.
