We had an amazing dinner at Yakiniku Shodai, a hidden gem in SF with cozy vibes and intimate countertop seating. The chef's service was exceptional and every ingredient was top-notch. We enjoyed all the side dishes and the premium cuts of Wagyu beef, and my favorite meat was the Australian Wagyu finger rib cut and the oyster blade Japanese A5 Wagyu, a rare find in the Bay Area. The scallops were huge and freshly flown in from Japan. The sake pairing was really just perfect with the tasting menu. All in all, a fantastic spot for an elevated yet relaxed evening out. I had a fantastic experience at the restaurant. The food was delicious, and the service was outstanding—there’s something special about having your chef join you for a drink! It was one of the most enjoyable dinners I've had in a long time. Even though I was there with just one other person, the atmosphere brought everyone in the restaurant together, making for a shared experience. Thank you for such an amazing time!

Every dish here is absolutely delicious! If you’re a meat lover, you have to give this place a try! I had a fantastic meal. The owner, Andy, is incredibly kind and really knows his stuff when it comes to food. He pays close attention to the quality of the meat and even grills it right at the table to ensure it’s done perfectly, so we don’t have to worry about messing it up ourselves.

Amazing restaurant overall. You get the japanese bbq/teppanyaki vibes with your own table grill that the staff uses to cook all the food for you, but without having to do it yourself.Incredible menu for any meat lover, serving nothing but amazing quality meat for every dish.They also sport very good wine and sake. Best yakiniku in SF. Food was an absolute blast, every meat in the course was delicate and a nice progression of tastes. Can't remember my fav because they were all so good. Experience very attentive especially on weekdays. Chris and Andy were great.

Food and service were top notch. Is a little more expensive than I thought it would be but money well spent. I do have a minor problem with the place not being well ventilated, but the food makes up for it.

5-stars all around for both the food and experience. Kareem did a wonderful job explaining each cut and answering any of our questions. Every cut was paired deliciously. Definitely worth a visit!

definitely a unique experience if you like beef, and they also have a set of sakes that are not too crazily priced. The setup (single bar surrounding all of the chefs) is fun. Réservez une table maintenant
