Yamato Asian Dining

I went for Dim Sum this last Saturday. I have been to Yamato a couple of times before and it was fairly good, not as good as Vancouver but workable for the interior. My last visit was a disappointment. I ordered four items and the food came out very quickly, too quickly, the sticky rice was not heated through, was dry, and was cold in the middle, the parcels were very small, I sent it back to be steamed properly. the pork dumplings were barely warm and were tough and chewy, like frozen ones. The shrimp dumplings were ok, and the rice roll was the best, but again ok. The cost of the meal with a Coke to drink and a tip was $34.00. I should have gone next door for a Vietnamese Sub for $7.00.

Great place for dim sum!! Came here on a Sunday and had a fantastic dim-sum menu. Good menu selection with most favorites. Yamato's regular menu is more Japanese with sushi and other Japanese favorites, but the dimming amount is also excellent!! Also for couples, families or larger groups.

We like the sushi at Yamato Kelowna. Although, sometimes the rolls aren't tight and will come apart when you pick them up with the chopsticks. Also, we've had a couple rolls that tasted fishy; otherwise, they would deserve a 5-star rating.

Always pick up couple orders of tim sums when I go Kelowna. As we don't go often. Delicious. Tried their jap dishes before not to keen of.

Excellent food and Nick the waiters is just the best. From the outside it looks chic, but go into you will not regret it.
