Not living in Prestbury I recently found out that a number of pubs in the village were dog friendly. Accordingly I tried a couple of them including Ye Olde Admiral Rodney on the main village high street and took my dog along. Whilst there I heard that the following day an Indian street food outlet was being hosted there on Thursday and Friday called Indian Goat. Apparently it received recent fame by a visit from TVs The Hairy Bikers. The place was fully booked up but I found a place at the bar and later tried the Tangra king prawns and Chennan chicken under their ‘small plates’ section of the menu. The Admiral Rodney is located in the centre of Prestbury. There is a small car park at the rear of the pub for about 10 cars. The pub was clean and well presented in a very attractive traditional way. There were 3 real ales on offer, Unicorn, Dizzy Blonde and Cumbrian Way all from the Robinson's stable. There was also a good choice of lagers, wines and spirits. The food menu concentrated on traditional pub food and was served and presented to a good quality. The staff were very pleasant and the service was good. The prices were on the high side reflecting it's Cheshire location in the centre of affluent Prestbury. If you are in the area I would certainly recommend a visit.
The prices are ridiculous, we drink in some of the most expensive places in London and have never been charged £24 for 2 gin and soda waters (not tonic), absolute rip off! They don’t put their drinks prices on their website unlike other Robinsons pubs. Definitely won’t be going back.
Great place for a much needed drink after walking around the village. Low ceilings and beams make a characterful place. Beer was great dizzy blonde v refreshing. Service v friendly and menu looked good, sadly we had to get home.

Over priced below average food. Very slow service. Very polite staff behind the bar. Beer good. Confusion over charging for the bill,which was handled badly by manager.
Great place for a drink, Excellent food,Great friendly staff. The low beams and ceilings give the pub a great atmosphere, I would recommend this lovely pub.
Awful smell from a table of people vaping … shouldn’t be allowed in a pub! Vapers should have to go outside with the smokers.
Food not good,and expensive. Very slow service. Limited menu. Maybe it was just a one off. Just a little disorganised..

Beauitful place and amazing staff members. Will be back again, an amazing place to enjoy lunch or dinner.
Very friendly old world pub. Lots of seating outside. Good range of beers. Dog friendly. Worth a visit.
