"Similar to Miku’s version, the Aburi Ebi Oshi ($11) was topped with lime zest and a creamy oshi sauce. It featured a lively citrus flavor and a pleasant creaminess, but the taste was slightly."

One of the best places in Vancouver for affordable oshi. The oshi was delicious and melted in my mouth. Seeing the oshi being made and torched in front of me was quite exciting. However, service was not that great. Came here with a friend a few months back and the waitress did not offer us a glass of water like everyone else. We sat for about 10-15 minutes and my friend actually had to ask for water himself. The waitress couldn't be bothered to put the water in a glass, but brought us water in a small tea cup instead. Really good food, but service could've been better.<br/

Yui Japanese Bistro hosted a media event to celebrate their soft opening and testing of potential menu items for their grand opening. They specialise in Aburi (blowtorch) oshi (rectangular pressed) sushi rolls and other popular local market trends like poke, and sous vide. Both chefs work at Miku Minami for over 5 years before branching off to create their own restaurant. They offer the same quality Aburi sushi as Miku Minami at a more affordable price. The chefs are not Japanese so they don't try to pretend by making an all Japanese menu and experience.

It took me some time to make it to Yui Japanese Restaurant, but I finally had lunch there with G while I was downtown. The restaurant is somewhat tucked away, located inside an office building next to Trump Tower. Even after you enter the building, the restaurant isn't immediately apparent; just walk straight ahead and look to your right. Once inside, you'll see that the space is very small, so we were fortunate to snag a table during lunchtime.

Opened by a couple of friends and co-workers, Yui Bistro has been garnering a lot of attention. The location is inconspicuous, you’ll probably walk by it and not notice. Or maybe you will, because there is always a crowd gathered outside either waiting for a seat at this 19-person restaurant or having a smoke break. In case you were wondering, it’s located at 1185 W Georgia on the first floor of the building, a littler further into the back. Réservez une table maintenant

Yui Japanese Bistro is a hidden aburi restaurant in downtown and they’re serving up some unique items on their new menu that just launched  this month. Chef Reg and Ping are behind these super innovative creations. The Tai Oshi was absolutely delicious and it contained tai, sesame leaf, crispy shiitake, and red pepper thread. To me, it tasted just as good as the traditional salmon oshi that everyone loves, but with different flavours.

Yui Japanese Bistro recently opened in Downtown Vancouver and is a hidden gem tucked away in a business building. They pride themselves of making aburi sushi at affordable prices.  Yui is located on the first floor. The restaurant is pretty small, so go for dinner earlier in the evening. They are open daily from 11am – 8pm except Sunday. I came with Dee for a visit at 7pm and there was a wait of about 20 minutes.

Yui Japanese Bistro, which specializes in aburi-style (flame seared) sushi at affordable prices, has just added a few new items to their menu.  The restaurant opened in April and is a hidden gem of sorts as it is tucked away in an office building at 1185 W Georgia St.  I recently tried the new additions to the menu at a media tasting.  Here is a look at what you can expect.

I really love the aburi sushi at this place! It rivals what you’d find at Miku or Minami, and it's quite affordable, too. The only downside is that it's very small, so I recommend visiting around 5:30 when it's less busy. Réservez une table maintenant

Yui Japanese Bistro is the latest restaurant to join the hype featuring aburi style sushi at an affordable price. Out of all the places I’ve been to, Yui is probably the cheapest place I’ve encountered for aburi sushi
