I used to go here regularly when they newly opened, since I worked right beside the store, but quality, portion sizes and their friendliness have gone down over the years. They're terribly slow in service and don't feel the urgency to complete orders when there's a line up outside in the snow. They wouldn't greet you in anyway, and totally ignore you for good 5 mins before they take your order. Their portion of meat/chicken is wayyy smaller compared to the price that you are paying, but with poor customer service they would still expect tips from you!!!Food still tastes good and fresh, but I would avoid wasting my time here and rather support some other struggling small business.
Zaaki is a tiny room in the Uptown area of New Westminster that serves Middle Eastern food. This is not a donair shop, of which there are plenty in New West. Zaaki serves a small but varied menu of chicken shawarma, beef kebab, and wonderful freshly made falafal in either a pita wrap or a platter. There are also soup, many side dishes, including a very tasty mutabbal (similar to baba ganoush), several kinds of small savoury pastries, and some delicious desserts. There are two small tables and some stools at the window. The proprietors are very friendly. I will definitely be back with my spouse so we can get several things to share.
several donairs ordered in different flavors. When I arrived, I was told that they had no bark or lamb, but still made the chicken. I say everything well, make them all huh, the crew is hungry. nothing tasted very good, not a single order was correct re: toppings, also beyond the chicken thing. a kerl has ordered a donair and got a platter. the lens soup was unusable.
I've been there once. I had a chicken shawarma platter. It was very delicious and big enough to get full. They also do beef kebab, falafel and other sweet dishes. The menu is not that big but simple. Seating arrangement is bit crampy, I would say. Its on 6th and 6th.The owner was very friendly and courteous. I would definitely go back and check other dishes. Réservez une table maintenant
Best shawarma in town. I'm from Dubai so shawarma has a special place in my heart. This is the first place I found that serves tahini sauce which is the main element for an awesome shawarma. You must try it out! Portion sizes are perfect. No place to sit though, it can only seat 2 people.
