We had a fabulous meal at Zante this evening. The chef made us feel right at home, even though the menu looked much different than what we usually see in the States. I had the Greek salad; the portion size is quite large, but it was delicious. My husband had the grilled olive bread. He loved it. For mains, we went with chicken pitta skepasti (a sort of grilled sandwich and the lamb stiffado, a stewed lamb dish. The latter was so good, I wanted to lick the plate. Mrs Killing is always particularly fussy about her greek food. Whenever we travel she will scour the internet for greek restaurants locally in the hope of finding one that makes authentic home cooked greek food. Often she's left disappointed. Not today though. Zante has quite possibly one of the best spanakopita she has ever tried. The food was fantastic, the service warm and friendly, and the recipe tips gratefully received! I doubt my spanakopita will keep Mrs K as happy, but next time we're up this way we will definitly drop in again, fantastic
Fantastic place to eat. Food was delicious and staff were really helpful. Pro tip: ask the staff for vegetarian recommendations. Will definitely visit again. We attended this restaurant for our 3rd wedding anniversary as it was recommended by friends. We were not disappointed as the food was exceptional and also the greek owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. A wee gem in Airdrie and we will definately be back soon.
