We had a fantastic time celebrating our niece’s 16th birthday dinner with her and 14 of her friends. Tiffany and her team delivered outstanding service and delicious food. Since most of our guests were experiencing Zen for the first time, it was the perfect introduction to the restaurant. A few parents joined us as well, and they were equally impressed. Both the teens and the adults loved it. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!
Service is good, or for this type of food, it doesn?t not need much service, it is all help yourself. We ordered the King crab leg combo with mild spicy and hang ten flavor. The sauce is very flavorful but a little salty, there is MSG definitely, cause I feel thirsty afterward. The king crab leg is not a good quality one, it is so dry, the meat is flaky, but clam and shrimp is very fresh.
Awesome! Very small restaurant with a diverse menu with polynesian and cajun influences. Huge portions at very reasonable prices. I had the Kalua pork which tasted like the pork I enjoyed at a lua in Hawaii. Recommend reserving a table through Yelp ad wait times to get into this very popular restaurant can be 45 minutes roku an hour. Well worth the wait.
Lemon pepper shrimp was bomb. Mixed BBQ plate: Asked to put the sauce on the side, wasn't an option. Extra charge to ask for no rice. Meat was a little tough, but good flavor. Dad said the salmon was hard and rice was half cooked. Broc was too hard for himto chew. But overall, was good. Would come back. Réservez une table maintenant
I have been here maybe 5 times. It is alwasy so good. Service is good. I always get the peal and eat shrimp, medium heat. If you like it hot then they will do you right. Portions are fair and large. I have 3 teen boys and they can grub and we leave herefull. the Locomoco is killer.
Menu is Japanese fusion with many interesting daily quirky specials. Truly excellent execution and service. With reasonable wine and sake list, could not ask for better. Worth a special trip
Zen has an eclectic and interesting menu. The culinary influences must come from 4 or 5 different cuisines. The food is good, the presentation is stylish and prices are very reasonable.

Alameda is a fantastic spot for brunch! The portions tend to be on the smaller to medium side.
