in a city with a high tourist attraction, it was pleasing to find in an old, well-preserved building a restaurant with a genuine German atmosphere and a menu with hearty German foods in generous portions. the beer of the barrel is good (adler) and our two feed more than enough in size and taste. the restaurant is cozy with separated areas for the guests; in contrast to many English pubs, whose interiors have been drained for profit reasons. the service was satisfactory but not fast. highly recommended.

we have eaten here too night while we stayed in a nearby hotel. I really liked it. the menu was varied, I chose a tomato soup and some pork as the main course. both were excellent. tomatensuppen are often a bit boring, but that was excellent. the pork was very tender and good, a typical German court of my opinion. I was hoping to sit outside, but there was a storm, so I was inside what was in order.

very central, on the ground floor of the hotel Dutch hof, a spacious dining room and a large terrace with large tables. varied menu, traditional cuisine, with good raw materials they prepare a rich and well presented food too. correct service, somewhat slow. cozy, quiet atmosphere recommended.

really delicious German food (I did not have better in heidelberg), generous portions and at a very reasonable price. a lot of choice (menu as thick as a telephone book) and very warm and friendly staff. terrace is also very nice near the old bridge. necessarily go! Réservez une table maintenant

also this year we have made a stopover on the way to the south in heidelberg and eaten in the "to spreisl". in comparison to the last year the service was in between somewhat unsorted, but eating was again delicious.

the food is just in order, but the service is bad. the personal first serves the local and ignored tourist. we waited 1 hour for our food and the people who came after us were served before us.

my wife has carving, quite huge to be honest. I had bark meat on special red wine sauce. tasty, but a little saltier than I prefer. bier was average. personal very friendly.

Oh hell yes. WhT a great meal. Near perfection. Authentic German-the menu is hand written German. The building is older than the United States by centuries.... Réservez une table maintenant

Great meal. First night in Heidelberg and this cozy place did not disappoint. Our group had schnitzel, sauerbraten, and the pork loins with mushroom sauce....

Really great authentic German food. Tfis restaurant has a lot of locals. The hand written menus add a special touch
