agree entirely with 11 july review. T bone is cut to at least 700g so will cost 50€. Had smaller but same price per 100g local blond acquitane x 2. Looked good raw. cooled how I asked. Extremely chewy and worse completely tasteless. About 1/3 inedible. Nobody really cared when we finished and had two plates that looked like a scene from Silent Witness.... Two glasses of indifferent wine and some average frites - Complete waste of £40 but no-one cared ; because of the hype there will still be a trail of unsuspecting takers (bet no-one has ever been twice,,,)

It's a bit of a tourist trap this one. Imagine a butchers counter with no option to reject the great big slab of meat you've been cut for one person. The waiters are also a bit pushy. The meat was OK in that one of the meals was good one was bad. No one asked so we couldn't complain. Also don't go if you're thirsty as the service was far from on point.

Wow! Meat lovers paradise Chose our steak from the butchers cabinet Delicious gratin dauphinoise and haricots vert to accompany Chips looked delicious too! Waiter couldn't believe I wanted my fillet cooked medium Sat at a long bench style table beside strangers but got used to it pretty quickly Great buzz in this place Would recommend

It has been really tough to find what we Americans call a really good steak here. Seems the butchers cut the meat differently, and the meat is often quite tough ( steaks only) So when we discovered Le Bar du Boucher, with the meat locker and aged beef, we had to try They sell it by the gram ( pound), A variety of cuts, the waiter cuts the size your want and then is is grilled to perfection. Served on a plank.Really enjoyed the meal with our friends and will return may times in the future.

We went here for a birthday dinner. Nice atmosphere, staff very friendly. No menu in English, but our waiter was more then helpfull explaining items in English. I had a mojito, which was very tasty, but didnt compliment the meat, so maybe I should have stuck with the very nice red wine. Meat is picked at the butcher counter, and you can indicate how big of a piece you want. Since prices are per 100gr, this can add up without you realising so until you get the bill though. Food was delicious, cooked to order. Would go here again, but it had to be a special occasion again, its a little over our normal budget. (2x entree, 2x meat, and some drinks, 115 euros) The duckfat chips where underwhelming, no need to try those, maybe go for some greens instead.

You will be seated on long tables with total strangers so not the place for an intimate meal for 2. The friendliness of staff and quality of service is excellent. You will get to choose precisely the piece of steak that you would like cooked for you and the wine list is outstanding for this type of restaurant.

We stopped in here for dinner one evening in Bordeaux. This place has an outstanding wine list! So many great choices to pair with the fresh cut steaks. After we ordered some Champagne and oysters you then walk back to the butcher counter and select your steak, the size you would like and how you would like it cooked. Our server was kind and helpful, we spoke a little French and he spoke a little English - it worked. We had a beautiful bottle of Bordeaux that would have cost a small fortune in the States. We ordered the Dauphinoise potatoes (how can you not?) and the garlic green beans. The meal was delicious, simple but done very well.
