A favourite with both locals and tourists in a prime location, this restaurant/bar has large portions of very good food. Service speed can vary according to how crowded it is; but the staff are friendly and as efficient as the number of clients allows. Prices are reasonable, especially given the quality of the food. (Large portions are not a matter to complain about -- just don't eat it all.). Try if possible not to sit next to customers who smoke (not the restaurant's fault); or eat inside. The issue is common to all French restaurants with outdoor facilities.

Our first evening in Bordeaux, and we needed to find a good restaurant to eat a hearty meal. We found it here. A chicken pasta bake with fries, and a large salad for my partner. The restaurant was busy, and the waiters were struggling to serve everyone in a timely fashion. Despite this, the food was good, the portions large and satisfying, the view down Cours de l'Intendance fantastic, with a tram-bells chiming every few minutes.

We had an outside table as it was very warm. Somewhat spoilt by some ladies who were dining next to us who were smoking. Perhaps we would have been better inside. Food ok. Chicken Escalope Savoyard and Seabass. Very busy place and staff struggling to keep up, although trying there best.

We called in here on our first night in Bordeaux. We were out walking and happened upon this place. Hubby ordered the Duck with a foie sauce and I wasn't that hungry so I ordered a Caesar salad. Well when they bought the salad out, the plate nearly filled the whole table, it was enough for at least two people. It was enormous, and to be honest there was no way I would finish this. It was nice but I would have preferred a smaller portion. My husband's duck was very nice and once again the portion was large. We also saw other salads being served and they were all huge. While the price of the salad was reasonable the size was way too large.

The good: service and outdoor ambiance The bad: price and weak cuisine The notable: fresh oysters and risotto with sauteed pate

From first glance this looked a decent place for lunch or evening meal, we opted for a lunchtime drink with a view to return for dinner the next day as the food that was being serve looked good and plentiful. We returned the following evening and both of us chose the Cote de Beouf which I thought was overpriced at 24 Euro compared to other restaurants nearby, add a bottle of red and the final bill was 75 Euro.Overall the experience was disappointing, paying over the top for average food means that I will not return, maybe we were unlucky and caught them on a bad service.

I knew I was in France by the street ambiance. Good food, decent wine list and multilingual staff made for an enjoyable evening outside; great for people watching too!

Lovely omelette and salade efficiently served by Fabien, multilingual server. Wonderful Bordeaux atmosphere and well frequented by the locals.
