A colleague had mentioned the burgers being good here so thought why not give it a try when passing by at lunchtime. Not surprisingly I wasn't disappointed in any way at all! Friendly staff spoke English and although there's a fairly limited range menu there were classic American style burgers all at good prices. For me the big mama with loaded fries menu washed down with home made lemonade was great once we got a seat in the compact indoor seating area as the terrace area was full during the nice weather. The place filled up quickly and long queues formed at peak times with food nonstop flowing out of the kitchen. It's obviously not a bad place to go if you want something a little more special in a burger.I'm not one to complain here-couldn't finish it all despite wanting to and dessert was definitely not required.
Among many burgers shops in bordeaux KOKOMO somehow is the famoust one! American Style burgers, served with coleslaw and fries. KOKOMO recreates a retro US dinner (decoration, servers etc). Burgers are ok, nothing I have never taste before. Service is ok too, we've been rejected twice because service was about to end (around 14:40). Many restaurants are closed by then but kokomo is supposed to be open all day. So to be clear KOKOMO is THE IN PLACE for young bordelais to eat. Good music, nice service, ok burgers, nice place to hand with friends!
Who would have thought - an authentic burger joint in the heart of Bordeaux? Yep, delicious CA burger with bacon, guacamole, onions and a side of yummy slaw. My friend ordered a Vintage burger medium rare (with cheddar, bacon, onions) and fabulous fries - and, of course, beer. Very crowded, tight squeeze in little table back near the kitchen, but service was quick, and with a smile! All good.
A reuben burger and a vegetarian burger to die for. On the hottest day in Bordeaux this year, Kokomo was there for us with burgers and beers. Who new that the French would not only capitalize on the boutique burger craze but dominate it as well? If you are in Bordeaux and are willing to break away from the more traditional fare then please head to Kokomo. My only suggestion is that they expand their access to French beers as Brooklyn Brewery and Budweiser were not what I was hoping for (not that you could have predicted that). Why not tap into the French micro-brew market?Anyways this is a fantastic burger joint when you need some great hip hop beats and a tasty treat.
