We so wanted to like this restaurant. The decor/ambiance is atmospheric; our waiter very cheery and professional; the background music classic french chansons: think Piaf, Montand, Aznavour and many lesser known chanteurs.Having had a big lunch, we decided to have just one course-and mussels were the first page of the menu. Our pots came out teeming with small mussels and there was a generous side of frites. The quality of the mussels was not in doubt, although they were quite small. The problem is that we have had better tasting Mariniere in Manhattan, New England and many places in France. Whatever sauce remained in the bottom of the pot, and infused the mussels had hardly any taste or flavor. I ordered the Dieppoise version for something different, and there was an assortment of other mini shellfish. Again, good quality, but missing that flavor boost. The frites were fine, but, again, nothing to write home about. Can't speak for the rest of the menu, although we had some decent sorbet, more like Sicilian Ice. We're disappointed and puzzled. But we do know how really good Mussels Mariniere should taste-and these didn't meet the test.

I had read about this restaurant online ahead of our visit to Dieppe and so we went the evening before (fully booked) to book for the next day's lunch since they fill up fast. The restaurant is long and narrow, not many tables, so definitely reserve in advance. The ambiance is warm and chic without being too fussy. It is located right on the quai, which is usually not the best place to find the best restaurants, usually too touristy, but this one seems to be the true exception. The young owners are really friendly (the husband more so than the wife) and the service was correct, if not a bit slow, given that they were full up.We both ordered the lunch menu and were very happy with our meals. Inventive and tasty, fresh cuisine. Really excellent value. Would definitely return next time in Dieppe without hesitation.

Burned pancakes. Burned dauphinois. Mi-cuit is a brownie. Delivered wrong entree (raw oysters instead of in sabayon gratinee). They skipped the cheese in 4 course meal, so we got 3 courses... Served other wine by the glass. Not sympa. Not worth it. To be removed from Gault Millau.Go to the neighbours...

This is not the most attractive restaurant on the quay, but the food is very good, the service is prompt and attentive, and it's reasonable value for money. The restaurant has a proper chef who knows what he's doing, and you can tell. During a week's stay in Dieppe it's the only place we ate in twice... and on both occasions all the other diners were French, and obviously happy with their meal. That says a lot.

It's a pity that this was our last meal in France. Fish soup was grey sludge (literally) and tasteless, our main dish had a few flakes of cod scattered across it, and dessert was very basic and accompanied by a strange sweet but watery sauce. It felt like at every turn the chef was trying to save money. I thought it might be because we had the cheaper menu, but the same dishes were on more expensive menus and looked the same when served. I watched cheerful couples throughout the restaurant turn slowly glum. The only reason I didn't walk out was because I thought my son had not noticed - it turned out he was doing the same!

We'd made sure to book in advance, since previous visits had alerted us to the fact that the restaurant fills up quickly. Excellent lunchtime menu. Everyone had something different - all excellent. Can't wait to visit again.

A group of 5 of us went for an evening meal, sea food of course, and had a very pleasant, above average meal, decent wine, at a very fair price. Service was good and efficient, the ambiance not bad (Proper table cloths!). I don`t think you will be unhappy eating here but it won`t knock your socks off!!

OK - this is a seafood restaurant and we should have gone with seafood but we had out hearts set on steak! There were't many restaurants open in March and we'd seen this one recommended on Trip Advisor. I had mussels for a starter, which were OK, but quite gritty. My partner's pate de campagne, was very nice. Then we both had steak for a main. It was a bit chewy - not really that great. But then the caramel pain perdu for dessert was delicious!!
