We visited the restaurant on the last day of June mainly because we like Mexican food and not because we have read something concerning the placeOur first impression was excellent because the owner and the rest of the staff made us feel very comfortableWe relaxed with a nice mohito and we ordered a lot of plates which were served in a way that made you feel you were eating at homeAll personnel, though young, willing to service the clients with a smile. Food was very tasty but the best thing was the atmosphere, created by the owner, who treated his guests as they were all his friends, proving that in all business pertaining to service, the human factor is the most crucial oneLate at night, we were offered a tequila shot, on the house, from a special bottle reminding us that if we ever come to Lens again we should definitely revisit the place.
I was staying in Lens for 6 weeks, if anyone has stayed there, you'll know there isnt much option for a good meal. But o mexicain was my favourite place to eat. My first visit, i was treated very well (dining alone) i got chatting to the staff and they were all interested in why i was staying in Lens and what i was doing. i kept coming back. After the 6 weeks i stayed i became good friends with olivier the manager, The service in this place is incredible, the prices very good and the food is amazing. The staff will help you decide what to eat and speak english very well. I have travelled many places in europe and this was one of the best mexican places i have eaten. towards the end of my stay all the staff would come and greet me by name and ask how i was. i cant reccomend this place enough - i will be returning, everytime i visit lens.
Amici II in NYC still tops the list, but this place is in 2nd place. What wonderful food! I had the mini buritos and they were divine. There was nothing to fault with this restaurant or the food. In fact it is the only reason to ever visit Lens (France) and I would say make a special trip to Lens just to eat here. It's next to the train station so if your train goes through Lens, stop and eat here before continuing your journey. There is nothing else in Lens so no need to stay.
Seven of us had just driven from Bordeaux to Lens and were looking for somewhere to eat near our overnight stop at around 10:30pm when we stumbled upon this restaurant. The managers was excellent, very accommodating and very keen to make our visit a special occasion even at that time of the evening. The menu is very good and the quality of the food was brilliant. The manager brought over complementary beer from the local brewery and the rest of the staff were very attentive. Fabulous experience.
