We had not booked and were welcomed warmly, as the family ran through the menu, I decided just ask what the host would recommend, I was not disappointed. Although I will admit to some jealousy at my wife's lamb dish. If you are in Lodeve and would like some authentic African cooking, then you must try this restaurant. We have another weeks holiday here, we will be back.

We are staying in Lodeve. Two of our family are vegetarian. We saw that this place had good reviews and it didn't disappoint. Charming host, excellent food, caters well for veggies. I wouldn't hesitate to go back. Fantastic

This restaurant is a much needed addition to Lodeve. It seats approximately 16 people and the decor creates the north African ambience well. The welcome could not be better and you do receive a great personal service which is attentive but not intrusive. The food does not disappoint...very tasty....take the advice of the owner! A lovely meal and evening. We will return. If you are in Lodeve you should eat here!

Quite small a restaurant, but well decorated, and more importantly, a charming waiter with an excellent cook. This is the second time we go there, and we will come again when we can on our road back to home. You won't be disappointed if you like genuine Algerian food, it is really good and it is homemade. Very delicate and tasty (a good reason to try the lesser known meals in my opinion - we also recommend the "Thé gourmand" for the dessert, with the unusual but outstanding chocolate cake). We paid about 22 euros for a 3-piece meal (without wine). Very happy with this, they deserve it. No chiqué, no cliché, but even the music is nice. Hints: do not miss the convenient parking near the river, on the right before the restaurant. Also, mondays are very quiet in Lodève, and we were alone again on our second visit!

Small place, maybe 7 tables. Interesting decor, definitely furnished with Algerian/Moroccan tastes in mind. After talking to the owner we let him order the appetizers and they were great, as was our couscous. And the food was spicy, although he was careful to make sure we were ok with spicy. (NB: The French tend not to like spicy food.) Not really expensive, back in the US this place would probably be swamped and charging 3 times as much. I honestly don't believe a restaurant this good and "ethnic" is in a small place like Lodeve. Not saying anything bad about Lodeve (the war memorial is especially moving) but the restaurant is just that good.

Went with my family by chance. Very friendly service and the food was delicious. The wine was fantastic and good value. All in all a very good place to eat.

We were wandering around looking for a restaurant when we were hailed in by the proprietor, we like to be asked for our business. We settled on a fresh salad and a bowl of soup and explained we'd share that. The soup came in two servings so no problem, tasty as was the salad and the lovely bread. Just what we wanted on a warm day. After settling the bill we were tracked down by the owner on the street with a purse we had forgotten, what a life saver. Keen to have us eat, keen to provide a nice and simple lunch and happy to return a forgotten item, we'll have to come back to sample more of the menu. I would only add that I'd like the music volume a wee bit lower, minor distraction.

Small place with a slightly odd 'courtyard', charming service by one of the Algerian owners. Rather good cous cous, less successful mixed meat grillade, worth a shot at modest prices.
