le 15 aout 2017, 12h30, à 3 plus chien, sans résa, accueil charmant, bonne place sur la terrasse avec belle vue sur l'eau du Blavet, repas très bon rapport qualité prix, une entrecôte délicieuse avec une sauce au poivre MAISON, à tomber, un peu d'attente devant des vins agréables mais où est ce qu'on attend pas le 15 aout ? en bref, c'était très bien, dans un beau site et n'hésitez pas à y aller...
Ce restaurant est dans un site superbe au bord d une rivière et une de ses écluses . La cuisine est excellente avec ses classiques comme la choucroute de la mer , le fambroisier ( plats succulents) . Et il faut noter l ambiance extrêmement sympathique et chaleureuse tout cela pour des prix vraiment très raisonnables C est un endroit que l on oublie pas !
Un petit séjour à Plumeliau nous á fait connaître ce restaurant dirigè par des personnes pas jeune et charmants. Ne pouvons pas, ni moi ni mon épouse, résister au choucroute de la mer on á fini par manger la même plat: excellent! Très bonne et généreusement servie avec des vieux chansons français comme ambiance sono et la rivière et la verdure comme décor.. Á la table á côté nous avons fait la connaissance d'un couple de belges; madame avait pris une brochette de trois gross noix de Saint-Jacques sur tagliatelles et monsieur une entrecôte avec des frites - eux aussi était très satisfait des leur repas. Pour dessert j'avais choisie un gâteau merangé aux fruits rouge- un régale, mon épouse un crème brûlée. Avec un peu de vin la note á 49 € on on la trouvais raisonnable. Je recommande,

The July 14th Bastille Day celebrations were in full swing in St Nicholas des Eaux,flee market with tons of tat,old men on new motorbikes( please,please get me one) a fleet of beautiful old motor cars, scrubbed up and looking terriffic,the river looking beautiful,dressed fore and aft with flowers and trees and a sky full of sun and 20deg. So,whats the next thing on the agenda......of course ,a cold beer and glass of wine. So we walked along the river admiring the cars ,chortling at the tat....yes! Ok we did buy some and eventually found ourselves at the end of the road next to what looked like a tatty French bar and tabac, but ,what the hell.cold beer and wine were duly delivered.After a bit the suggestion was that we could possibly have lunch here at the RESTAURANT de la VALLEE.It was a bit early but we lingered over the drinks and then grabbed an inside table. The menu du jour was a limited choice and we were a bit thrown by the bretton French menu but Madam was on hand to help. 3 courses was E30.50 a bit more expensive than we usually pay for a normal lunch but this was our last day. A half bottle of Rose de Provence seemed like a good idea. The place was rapidly filling up with older French couples and families who all seemed to be looking forward to a good lunch. Now the one thing we English HAVE to get used to is that a good lunch must not be rushed.Take your time and enjoy the company,the wine and of course the food. It was delicious.We both has the Pate(sorry geese) duck with french fries and some delicious veg and to finish I had the chocolate mousse and Molly had the Creme Caramel.Coffee outside finished off a wonderfull,unexpected visit to a beautiful little French village. The staff were efficient,friendly and helpful and didn't mind our terrible attempts at their language,even the other French customers were chatty and friendly. Family-run restaurant, still as good as ever. Martine always greets you with a smile and the food is served quickly and perfectly cooked. If you're in the area doing L'Arte Dans Les Chappelles walk then I recommend you stop here for lunch or finish it with dinner. The calm waters of the Blavet will help you relax and the food will leave you wanting more. The lamb chops are to die for!
