Couldn't eat until 7:30pm but when we did the whole family enjoyed a bowl of mussels each. Friendly staff and reasonable prices. Recommended.

We visit Le Cap Nell each year - over many years. However today we were very disappointed. The service was exceptionally slow and some of the food was distinctly average. It's not a cheap place to eat and we were left wondering if we will bother next year.

We have enjoyed eating here over the years and have never been disappointed by by any meal, let alone a single dish. Menu plays to local favorites and other French specialties plus a raw bar. Service efficient and English cheerfully spoken if necessary. If for no other reason, eat on the terrace overlooking the old harbor.

Stopped in Rochefort on Bank Holiday so not many places open but got here early for dinner and on second attempt reserved table outside. Drinks service a bit hit and miss. Hugely busy but meal service was good. Enjoyed mixed oysters and prawns starter then bavette and sabre fish mains with choc mousse and a French rice pudding to follow. House white in picher just right. Chose menu of day at modest price. Could have gone for quite cheffy menu if wanted but what we had was good. Views over harbour and next to historic docks. All fine in summer

CapNell was recommended to us by our hotel as it was one of the few good restaurants open on a Monday evening Stylish and modern, its situation overlooking the inner Harbour was delightful. The staff were welcoming and the smiling servers were efficient and attentive. We chose the 22,90€ menu which included smoked mackerel with poached egg on a bed of endive and artichokes and a flavourful home-made fish soup. For mains we both chose the braised leg of Rex rabbit which was enormous and surrounded with perfectly cooked vegetables in a light broth. My dessert of mascarpone vanilla mousse topped with apples flamed in cognac was perfection as was my companion's deconstructed lemon tart. With a bottle of good Muscadet sur lie and coffee the bill came to some 70€ and we toddled away, very happy to recommend this lovely restarant without any hesitation.

We were recommended to visit this restaurant by our hosts at Le Villa de Demoiselles. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and it made an excellent start to our Golden Wedding celebrations in France. The staff were friend,y and attentive and the food was delicious. We would endorse our hosts recommendation and encourage you to eat here when in Rochefort.

Party of 8 men. Good restaurant right by the yacht port. Tables inside and out.Well price, wide menu. Local lamb with mashed potato was excellent, as were the ousts, prawns and burgers. New summer menu introduced when we were there with the welcome addition of a burger.Wine list ok, not broad, but functional.Very near the Hotel Corderie Royal.

We chose this restaurant to celebrate my 60th birthday at and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere was excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful. Food and drink were excellent and we had a very enjoyable evening. We would certainly visit if we were in Rochefort again. Highly recommended.
