We stayed five nights at the Camping Les Sables Vigners (which is also very good) and decided to have dinner at the restaurant the night before last. I had the mussels in cream, husband had a white fish we still don't know which because our French isn't that good and their English neither! Suffice to say both dishes were delicious. So much so we went back the following night for Confit de Canard and grilled Camembert. The first could have been a little warmer, but the latter was very good. I also recommend the créme brulé, one of the best I've ever eaten.A bit pricey at dinner time, but definitely worth it.
Having passed this restaurant located next to the Reception office for Camping Les Sables Vignier, we'd noticed the menus always looking interesting, varied and very sensibly priced. One really wouldn't generally expect such excellent cuisine in a Camping venue, but this was brilliant in all respects. My wife and I chose the 3-course lunchtime Menu du Jour @ around 13Euros and added a demi-litre carafe of local Oleron Sauvignon Blanc, (carafe just marginally pricier than some other restaurants, but well worth the extra 10E). Our entrée was Salade Marine and we expected just a salad with a couple of bits of seafood, but this was more like a mini assiette de fruit de mer, with langousties, moules, crevettes, sauce et salade, accompanie par pain manifique. Main course was a beautifully cooked tranche de saumon ratatouille p-d-t puree. Sublime. Another glass of the chilled local Sauvignon and it was time for dessert, which was a duo comprising dark chocolate brownie and a scrumptious tart (almond we think)Altogether, then food was absolutely wonderful, each course served with a smile and at a gentle pace, which made us feel completely relaxed throughout. Enfin des plats à emporter et des pizzas qui très bons. Moules frites à emporter, dans un plat en verre consigné, une quantité monstrueuse et excellente accompagné de frites et pizza faites devant vous, en minutes, C est très bon, c est rapide et propre. Je recommande et y retournerais.
