This restaurant restored my faith in humanity. After walking out of two restaurants because of terrible service we found this restaurant where the staff were fantastic. Wonderful service, fantastic local beer (made by the gardians) smashing wine and the food was great. Oeuf coquette and tarte aux legumes were our meals. They were so very enjoyable.

When we were looking for a place to have lunch I had already given up to find a restaurant where the vegetarian option would be something different than chèvre salad - but I was mistaken. At La Bohème I was happily surprised by their specialty - Cocotte eggs - which came with a fresh and tasty green salad and a small baguette. We liked it so much that we came back the next two days until we had to leave the city. This place has our warm recommendations!

As 4 student girls we're looking for something tasty and not too expensive. So we found La boheme on a beautiful place, behind the Saintes Maries's church. It's managed by two wonderful women, cool, welcoming and very nice, who serve us cheerfully. The restaurant is incredibly decorated, coloured, very cosy ! we were charmed by the atmosphere. Moreover, the dishes proposed are fresh and accessible. We tried two salads (very generous) and two of us tried the baked eggs (several flavours)! served with salad. Each one served with a homemade little bread. We have also tasted a lemon meringue pie (amazing)! and coffee with gourmet dessert (for the food lovers !). It was perfect, I deeply recommend it ! It's a must-see !!!!!

The place has surely a nice position and looks cozy but it is also a good rip off for tourists. We ordered a "breakfast formula", asking for a tea instead of the coffee stated in the breakfast offer. The waitress (or owner)? agreed. We got the breakfast and the tea. We were then charged 1.90€ extra. We inquired why and the answer was the offer applies to a coffee and the bread marmalade and not for tea. Great. Why didn't say that from the beginning? So, we basically paid for a coffee that we did not get plus paying for the tea. The said formula contains 2 pieces of bread (or 2 mini croissants) and 3 sealed mini pots of marmalade a coffee. The croissants are too small to be able to take all the marmalade, so one basically pays also for a marmalade that one cannot eat and it is returned to the owners of the café who can happily offer them and charge them to others. One can find nicer places with people with better mood than the 2 ladies owning this place.

Beware of this apparently pleasant place. The prices are higher than other available offers and the owner, behing her fake smile, is really just looking for a way to extract the highest possible sum from you. I was charged a full "breakfast menu" -- 6 euros-! for two tiny samples of baguette bread and some butter (the same is for sale at 50 meters away in a nice bakery.) Furthermore, when we asked for explanations aout this rate, she claims "its your own fault, you dont know how to order". This because I "said just bread please" while my boyfriend dared to say the word breakfast (seemingly thats enough to get you charged for it)! The customer is, of course, never right in this establishment and plus gets an arrogant and rude treatment. Stay away or anything you say in there can and will be used against you.

Bravo !
