A typical luxurious French meal served beautifully. The products were seasonal and locally sourced and the staff were knowledgable. All in all a wonderful experience even with a big group

We liked the ambience of the dining room, the service and the delicious meal (a whole leg of baby lamb, served perfectly pink.)

This last Wednesday we had dinner at Le Country Club, based on a recommendation of our French friend, who accompanied us with his family. We were a party of 7. The restaurant was less than half full at its busiest. The location is beautiful with views over the Seine in a wooded residential area with some remarkable homes nearby. Before dinner we walked around the neighborhood, listened to the song birds, and took in the fragrance of the blooming Lilac. Dinner was good, I would not say great. Typical of many steaks I have had in France, mine had too much gristle. The other dishes were good with no complaints. Service was good and attentive, perhaps in part because of the relative paucity of other diners. We ordered our desserts off the menu and our server was happy to oblige - not something that we always encounter in French restaurants. I would go back again but only for the setting, not the food.

In a beautiful spot, tucked away right by the River Seine. Had a very nice comfortable room with balcony overlooking the River, interestingly and eclectically furnished. Although the room was clean, the balcony needed a very good sweep and wipe down, covered with spider webs so unusable. Our room was up two flights of stairs (no lift apparent) and down a very long dark corridor, there were automatic lights that came on just a bit too late to be helpful, quite dangerous actually. Had an excellent evening meal (although v expensive) in the very attractive restaurant, also overlooking the Seine. The dogs were made welcome too. After the wonderful evening meal we were somewhat dismayed when our breakfast arrived, croissants and pain au chocolate, so burnt as to be inedible, followed by two rolls that again were over cooked so rock hard, no replacement or money back was offered.

My first visit at the Country-Club was on a summer day some time ago and I was quite disappointed. I went back for lunch on a beautiful autumn day mainly for the view ; the terrace was closed (too much rain) so we ate inside. And it was a very pleasant surprise : no more waiters in training who can't open a bottle properly but efficient service. The choice on the card was small with mainly French heritage (if I may say so) cuisine. We had fish with a glass of sancerre (for lunch they serve wine by the glass) and it was refined, tasty cuisine. I'd definitely recommend it.

The Country Club is the restaurant of the hotel of the same name. The building is in a nice park, overlooking the Seine valley and there's a perfect wooden terrace with umbrella. A nice place to have lunch (or dinner) on a warm summer day. Unfortunately service is slow and messy, the wine card has no year for the wines and the staff, when asked, gives wrong information (who'd want a Médoc from 2011 in 2012? It was from 2008, still young), the waiter (if he can be called thus) managed to let drops of wine escape onto my white linen trousers when he opened the bottle. The food was average and only so in spite of the pompous names given to the dishes, portions are large for entrée and dessert but my angus steak (quite good) was on the thin side (difficult to have it rare though). On the whole a mediocre experience but the others places to eat in Samois are worse (especially the one with a famous name) and more expensive.

Had looked forward to special birthday lunch here, very disappointing. Food acceptable, service ok from young waiter, but very aloof maitre d'hotel who was dressed a lot more casually than clients, which I found misplaced. He was umpleasant & indifferent. The restaurant was deserted with just two other tables in for lunch, despite that, we were all huddled in a cluster of 3 tables next to each other around the central fire. There was about half a log on the fire & the restaurant was freezing. Got the impression they are trying to keep costs to a minimum! Samois Sur seine is stunning & they have a superb location!

With my wife and my children for dinner. So we were the only ones who felt strange. Food was good quality and well cooked presented. Child food was fast with us and was also good. Could not decide...if the general feeling had come down or rustic, but overall a beautiful experience and we will go back.
