lunch was in the backyard deck, instead of inside the restaurant. the service was really good and helped us understand the menu. i had an interesting pork meat dish with pastry crust on the outside. it was a little salty but a really unique dish. the 3 course dish meal seemed to be really worth it too! mix of french and german flavors, very traditional.

Upstairs the most famous delicatessen in town, here is the small restaurant. It focuses on pork dishes : sausages, pâté, choucroute, etc .... Top freshness and quality goes along.

A great spot in central Strasbourg for artisan pork products with a gourmet touch. To start, the locale is very bright and modern but with white walls and wooden banquettes. However, the artwork on the walls and pieces scattered throughout the restaurant are very evocative of the history, culture and architecture of Strasbourg. As for the food, it was uniformly excellent and it was one of the best meals we had during our trip. We shared a selection of charcuterie dishes (although there are over a dozen choices in that regard on the menu so could not cover them all). They were all wonderful. I had the pig cheeks as a main course and it was tender and full of flavor. Another of our group had the saucisse blanche which was also very good. You really cannot go wrong if you are looking for a meat-based meal (vegetarians should probably go elsewhere). The service was also very good, efficient but not imposing.

Porcus is a famous delicatessen counter in Strasbourg. At the first floor of the downtown shop they serve super fresh food and the taste is outstanding since it just has been cut few minutes ago. Lunch time only I believe.

Great restaurant located just above a busy charcuterie. a delicious Christmas beer to get things started followed by a choucroute royale for me and a choucroute strasbougeoise for Madame. Finished with a delicious dessert of mini kouglof and plum compote...Friendly place with good service...sure the tables are close together, but this allowed us to have nice conversations with the people on each side and we even got some shopping tips from one of the ladies...Be sure to reserve...then get ready for some real Alsatian food at a reasonable price...you won't regret it.

Being porkers, we were excited when we stumbled across Porcus. The downstairs shop was brimming with a wide selection of beautiful meat which spurred us into going to the restaurant. We ordered the charcuterie starter and the pork knee main. When the starter came out it was disappointing - a plate of what was essentially sandwich meat or posh bologna at best. It was underwhelming. The main was quite nicely cooked with no complaints. The service was complete chaos. We were sat quickly and given cutlery only to be abandoned for some time before we could flag someone down and beg for drinks. This seemed to be the theme for service. If you are not a patient person, do not go, as the service was poor by any standard. I am glad we went or we would have always wondered what pork-filled delights we missed out on. Too bad it was disappointing.

We went for lunch on a spring day. The upstairs is tiny and bright and the other guests were local business people. It seemed that the whole place was run by women that day, including the chef, which was nice to see. Hubs had the choucroute and loved it-a huge portion. We were after the best choucroute in Strasbourg and he said he didn't think it could get more authentic. I had the special, which was 2 kinds of sausage and a carrot custard. Everything on my plate was amazing and decadent. I must have eaten 10 eggs between lunch and dessert. The sausages were perfectly seasoned and so incredibly moist and light (lots of cream in the forcemeat?) and the carrot gratin was a massive portion of super buttery delicious local carrots held together by silky, rich custard.I ordered rhubarb tart because I thought it would be tangy and refreshing, but it was only a small amount of roasted rhubarb in more custard. Still very tasty.Porcus has a wonderful atmosphere, reasonable prices and fabulous food. Go and don't worry about the calories.

I have been in this restaurant in March 2014 for lunch (it is not open for dinner). I had a very good impression. Service was excellent, staff is pleasant, nice, not too invading. There is a very good choice of meat (to access the restaurant one has to pass through the butchery at the groundfloor) and food was delivered quickly although the restaurant was quite full. Food quality is very good, also considering the prices not high at all. I think I will visit this place again.
