Four of us took the 4 course 43.50 Euro dinner menu. Having taken lunch here a couple of years ago I was interested to compare what was a very enjoyable midday meal to what was on offer for dinner. A wonderfully tasty amuse buche of pickled turnip commenced the meal which was followed by an excellent mackerel dish as a starter. One slight disappointment was the 'fish of the day' which was an unidentified white fish served with an inedible tough skin. Surely a Michelin star chef would recognise such a thing and either do something to rectify the texture of the skin in order to make it edible, or simply serve the dish without the skin attached? This was the one major downpoint throughout a meal which ended with a magnificient Livarot Mousee cheese course and a strange pineapple / thyme combination - I am not a fan of pineapple so this wasn't for me and it would have been nice if there had been a choice of dessert as there was a choice of entrée and main. All in all it is difficult to criticise the meal for the price we paid but I would have been more disappointed with the fish had we paid more. Drinks were very expensive (6 euros for a cocacola, 11 euros for a kir aperitif) but I suppose you expect to pay such prices at a Michelin starred establishment (although I have visited starred restaurants where drinks were half this price). All in all it was a pleasant meal if not outstanding, not sure I shall be rushing back but I do not regret eating here.
