This 1st may 2017 we decided to participate on a Walk organized in Mignovillard. Just before the big walk (13 km), we decided to have a fast meal in a restaurant. Not a lot of choice in this area. Luckilly the restaurant called Le Chalet de la Bourre was opened.The location is splendid, a bit lost in the moutains. By the way, despite it was the 1st may, it was a bit snowing ! Close to this place people are skiing usually.It's an authentic place and the meals are 'faits maison' (let's say homemade). Well I have to say that I was a bit worried because the waiter was a bit long to come to us (10 minutes), but I do perfectly understand, it's not a fast food and the atmosphere was clearly relax over there. (a pity that we did not have more time to appreciate all this) But as soon as we told him that we were in a hurry, he did the maximum to serve us very quickly. In 20 minutes we had the time to have 2 coffees, 2 starters (terrines), and rabbit as main course (as the rabbit was ready) (no desserts). The terrine, the rabitt (and also the bread) all were very tasty, very well cooked. It has been a real pleasure to have our meal here. The people working over there (we did see a man and a woman) are very pleasant (the waiter is very nice), the location is very good, the food is great, and the price is still fair (we did pay less than 50€ for 2). It seems that they have no electricity over there, they do use a special engine to produce some. The evening the service is done with table enlightened by some old fashionned lamps ! It must be very interesting to have a dinner over there ! That would be our advice, if you are in the neighborhood of Mignovillard, try to have a dinner at Le Chalet de la Bourre, that should be for sure a kind of unique experience.
