Just a few steps from the busy thoroughfare of the main shopping street of rue St Catherine you will find this arty restaurant well patronised by locals, both office workers and the bohemian community. We were fortunate enough, during the recent cold snap, to have arrived just before midi and thus were able to bag ourselves a fireside table. This was the perfect start to a lovely meal. We chose a la carte. The maroilles (a strong, creamy cheese from near the Belgian border) and spinach tart was a good choice to precede the local fish main course and the dessert of profiterole and other choccy titbits was a nice way to end what had been a very relaxed and prolonged lunch which went well into the afternoon. This is one of only a few restaurants we have found in Bordeaux where wine, of good quality and much more than a mere 'table wine' is provided as part of the meal, making it extremely good value. Much recommended if you are looking for straightforward, honest, local food but don't want to break the bank.
