Here we had one of the best dinners of our month-long trip, loaded with flavor. (Don’t be deterred by the plain dining room and paper placemats – the cooks know their job.) They offer a menu at €21.90 with five choices in starters, mains and desserts. We enjoyed a lotte (monkfish) with bacon cream sauce, a steak tartare, and for dessert an excellent apple Tarte Tatin. Loire wines are available at reasonable prices. We liked the rosé de Loire (half bottle €7). For beer lovers: Leffe on tap. They also do a roaring business in pizzas and crêpes. It’s open on Sunday and Monday evenings, when other restaurants are closed.
