What a disappointment! This experience truly ruined our Christmas. Our soup arrived lukewarm, and the dinner roll was cold and tasteless. The single slice of turkey was rubbery with yellowish skin, and the dark meat was dry and tough. The small serving of mashed potatoes tasted like they were instant. The four slices of burnt Brussels sprouts and two pieces of carrot were rock hard, and the white turnip or parsnip was equally flavorless. The cube of stuffing had the consistency of egg foo young or tofu and was also completely tasteless. The Christmas pudding and vanilla ice cream seemed to have come straight from a Sysco or Gordon's Foods delivery truck, resembling cafeteria food. And all of...

On Sunday, October 1 we had dinner at the Pier 10 Acres restaurant in Sidney. It was the end of happy hour when we arrived. We have eaten there before and found the food middle of the road and good. Things have gone very wrong. We had one of the worst meals in many years. I ordered a hamburger and side salad. My husband ordered a Caesar salad with chicken. We did not order happy hour food but food from the regular menu. The patty on my burger was burnt, less than a 1/8th of a pound, and tasted like it had been frozen, boiled and then fried. There was a dollop of sauce greens and a soggy bun. The salad was wilted. The meal was inedible and disgusting. My husband's Caesar salad with chicken wa...

Disappointing. This restaurant looks like it should be good based on the ambience and location, but the food quality itself was disappointing. We started with 1/2 price oysters. They didn’t have the “Premium Oysters” so we ordered the more expensive “Superior Oysters.” They were good enough. We ordered during happy hour so they were 1/2 price. If I were to ever return, I would not order the oysters at their full price (not worth it).I ordered the fish and chips. They didn’t have any halibut left so I had the haddock instead. This was literally the smallest piece of fish I have ever been served on a plate of fish and chips, which is ironic given that I ordered off the “large plates” menu. It w...

We live in the area and really want to love this place but have been disappointed all 3x. This last was the worst, sadly. My glass of wine was corked. The food took forever to come out. Calamari appy was delicious! For the main, my medium rare steak was well done. Was told a discount would be applied to the bill. It wasn’t. The potatoes weren’t cooked. Friend had the falafel salad and they had taken one falafel and sliced it into four and then fried it. The slices were more like pucks. Server was very nice but waters not refilled, appy dishes not cleared before mains arrived, had to ask to see the dessert menu, get cheque, etc. In the age of being short staffed, inexperienced kitchen staff,... I had higher expectations considering the price I paid for the Christmas Dinner, which was $79.95 for a three-course meal. I started with the squash soup, which was good but served lukewarm. The accompanying bun was hot on the outside but cold on the inside, indicating it wasn't fresh. When I requested butter, I was surprised to learn it would cost an extra $1.50. The turkey dinner was decent, though there were no options for different types of meat. The stuffing was served in a square shape, which was unusual. I had to ask for salt and pepper five minutes into the meal. On a positive note, the dessert was enjoyable—small and light. However, the five-ounce glass of wine came at a hefty price...

Went to 10 Acres for Thanksgiving dinner Sunday night. Online the menu had the 3 course dinner for 49.95, and salad or soup, dinner and dessert separate . There wasn't this option in house. We had the 3 course set menu and was surprised that salad and dessert was added to the bill. The food was ok not delicious, gravy was extra. What will keep us from going back was the staff. No one was smiling and no one was friendly. We had to ask for cutlery, salt and pepper and water. We were hardly spoken to and ok they were busy but not overly. So for over $190 for 3 (no alcohol) we will not be spending our dollars there again.

We went for a birthday lunch and I was very disappointed by the food. I ordered fish tacos with guacamole. They were almost inedible, 3 tacos with a tiny piece of fried fish and smothered in a horrible taco sauce. It was bitter and nasty. My friends had fish and chips which were okay but the portion was small. This is my third visit and my last. The previous two times I'd ordered the grilled cheese and the omelette which were okay. This time I wanted something special but 10 Acres did not deliver. It's expensive and very very mediocre.

The food exceeded my expectations, but the service was quite poor. It wasn't suitable for children at all, as they didn't provide a high chair. The 18% service charge felt unreasonable and disproportionate. I will not be returning. Overall, not a kid-friendly environment. Réservez une table maintenant

Rude, abrupt gentleman waiter that made us feel like we were bothering him. The rest of the staff was friendly. Food was okay, but not what expected for the price. Or maybe the attitude of the waiter put us off from the start.
