We ordered a sandwich called “The Rachel,” which consists of pastrami on rye with Swiss cheese, slaw, and Thousand Island dressing. We also got one side, which was couscous mac and cheese. For the other order, we chose the pulled pork plate, accompanied by two sides: Brussels sprout slaw and French fries.
I was told The Rachel was fantastic, and the slaw on it was excellent. The couscous side could have used a bit more flavor and/or cheese, but it was still quite good. Starting with the pulled pork, it was incredibly juicy with a tangy sauce that added the perfect flavor. The portion size was fantastic too! As for the brisket sandwich, the bun was wonderfully soft and soaked up all the smoky flavors and slaw beautifully. The brisket itself was delicious, with a fantastic bark and the ideal texture that hits the spot when you're craving brisket. Definitely worth every penny!
Now, the wings—these are some of the best BBQ wings I've ever tasted! They have a rich smoky flavor that lingers, and the deep-fried texture is just right—not too crispy but perfectly seasoned with a great spice rub.

I first saw the review on the Phantom Gourmet for A La Esh BBQ a long time ago and had to try this place. I got the Brisket plate with a side of Couscous Mac and the Sumac Potato Salad. The brisket they showed on the Phantom Gourmet looked great and was juicy. The brisket on my plate didn't look anything like what they showed on TV and was VERY dry and broke apart into chunks. It wasn't a pleasant eating experience. Needless to say, the brisket was a huge disappointment. I did enjoyed the sides. I will never go back after spending $20 on brisket that was terrible. Especially if you say that you are a BBQ place, you should have great BBQ food. It's too bad, as I went to Avi's Simcha restauran...
Ordered the beef brisket plate and smoked chicken wings for dinner. Absolutely delicious. The brisket was so juicy and flavorful. Couscous mac n cheese and brussel slaw as sides, amazing. Loved that the brisket was put on top of the pickles and onions, all the juices from the brisket added extra flavor to the pickles and onions. Being greedy I had also ordered the smoked chicken wings. They were done to perfection, nice crunch to them, so flavorful.Neither the wings nor the brisket needed any additional sauce, but the bbq sauce that came with was so good. Loved the tang in it. Unfortunate experience tonight. Decided to try a La Esh after having great reubens over a year ago. Saw the BOGO offer for fried chicken sandwich. What we got was nothing like what was expected from the photos chicken was overcooked and wasn't even close to fitting the bun, fries were minimal, and no slaw, lettuce on it just one slice of a pickle ? . Will try one more time, but won't give it a 4th chance. Photos show was we actually received. Not even close...
I'm not sure if I received the last pieces of the day, but my beef brisket plate was lacking in quality. I was expecting slices of meat, like I’ve had at other places, but instead got small, tough pieces. While it was flavorful, I was disappointed in the overall quality. I tried to push through and eat a little more (I was really hungry!), but I didn’t end up finishing much. Maybe dining in at the restaurant is a better option than ordering takeout?
Brisket is marvelous. I'm looking for a nice bark while keeping that juiciness and tenderness along with good marbling and it was all there. The sides may be the only thing holding this spot back from full on celebrity level bbq. They need to add some traditional sides for people.
The place is literally never open. I have tried to go on 3 different occasions and for one reason or another, they have been closed even when their hours say they were open. Update the website hours because they are completely wrong.

Brisket, pulled pork, chicken RIBS smoked rubbed seasoned well,. There's been turkey, lamb, pork belly, bologna, on the menu. Chili, pastrami, pickled kale, Israeli salad. Cous cous Mac n cheese Chamin beans. it's all good.
Really great service and food, have only had great experiences with the staff they always go above and beyond. The food is always great from the chicken sandwich to the pulled pork
