Burnt 90s style beans of indeterminate age I so want to like this place because it's local and I've moved back to my hometown after being away for 14 years, but I can't recommend it at all, especially if you have any expectations for a Third-wave coffee experience. It seems okay at first sight: the many jars of beans and the map look fun! But the shortcomings of the beans appear when you scratch the surface and are obvious when you take the coffee home. I had a wonderful experience at this café, primarily thanks to the knowledgeable staff. I purchased some Brazilian coffee beans, and the young man I spoke with informed me that the roast was medium, leaning towards the darker side, which was exactly what I was looking for. When I brewed a cup at home, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the roast. I really appreciated the helpful information from the staff, as it can be frustrating when employees at coffee shops and roasteries are unable to answer basic questions about their products. While this Brazilian coffee might not be the best I've ever tasted, it is still very good and offered at an excellent price. I will definitely return...
The service here is excellent, and the staff is very knowledgeable about the different types of roasts available. I recommend this shop to everyone I know who loves coffee. I highly suggest trying their Golden Butter Nut roast and French Roast (dark roast).
