I've been a fan of Akebono for years. The food is consistently excellent, the service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is wonderfully relaxed and casual. Whether it's the sashimi, sushi, katayaki soba, tan tan men, stamina ramen, challenge ramen, kimchi ramen, nabayaki udon, or teriyaki, everything is delicious! The takeout is also well-packaged and holds up beautifully at home.
This restaurant offers one of the most diverse Japanese menus in all of Sacramento! The sushi is decent for the price, and the beef teriyaki dinners are also quite good. The salad and miso soup were acceptable as well. The waitstaff is really friendly, and the best part is that when they open at 5:00, there's no wait at all!
Husband ordered curry over rice. Thought he ordered prepandemic and liked it, not this time. Last time, ate with friend, price shot up for ramen. Was good. This time, less ingredients, still tasty. Overall. Not a place to frequent again for awhile.
If you want excellent ramen and sushi in a low key atmosphere you can tell everyone here loves this place and you will too. I get the shoyu ramen with corn and the fish lovers roll every time because they are perfect. Réservez une table maintenant
I hadn't been here in a few years, but I must say the food and service are outstanding. While the prices have increased since my last visit, I still believe it's worth the cost.
Delicious meal. Served quickly. I had tonkatsu and tempura combination. Had enough to take home and have it for lunch the following day. I'll return soon. It was that good.
The miso ramen and shoyu ramen were excellent, featuring fresh ramen noodles. The tonkatsu curry was just average; it had a film on the surface.

Salmon Toro was excellent. Miso Ramen was very good. Broth was nice but lacked that true depth of flavor.
