Nice atmosphere, quite a small place but had a nice vibe with all the saki bottles on display.Friendly staff and was informed about their specials straight away so it is always good when the staff are on the ball.Ate with a friend and we ordered a number of dishes both for ourselves and to share.Salmon sushi looked awesome, so fresh and nicely arranged and a decent size portion.Saba was cooked well and had a great flavour with excellent crispy skin.Okonomiyaki looked the part but I was suprised to find a piece of chopped crab stick in it ( I associate crab stick with cheap and nasty as it is in reality flavoured minced fish) it had a tiny amount of salmon in it but no meat or prawns or anyth...

We went to this place just after it opened & were not very impressed - food was average & service amateurish, to be charitable. We went again the other night. Four of us ordered 3 entrees & 2 drinks, which came in a reasonable time. Once the drinks arrived, we didn't see a waiter again, to ask if we needed more drinks, or anything, for that matter. Our mains were all Udon-types meals for which we waited about an hour. When they did arrive, only 2 came out. The 2 with meals waited a while (as the food cold colder) and then started to eat. They finished their meals and the other 2 meals still had not arrived! At that point we complained to the waiter and left. His excuse was that tempura takes...

The "modern" in the title probably reflects the fact that many of the dishes seem to have other Asian influences. That said, most of the dishes were tasty and well prepared, but somehow without being quite authentic. The prices were very reasonable and the food service was fine, but the drinks took some time and a second glass of wine arrived just as we finished eating. I suspect that the restaurant had minimal staff on duty. There is an excellent range of saki available complete with tasting notes for the uninitiated as well as beers and some wines. We went back for a dinner last week, lovely atmosphere, great Japanese decor.Beef tataki was standout. The well presented Miso Wagyu steak tasted slightly different, bit more marbling. The chewy and soft udon noodles were the best.They had a fantastic selection of sake, don't forget warm sake on a cold night. Réservez une table maintenant

This is a lovely Japanese restaurant with a real Japanese feel. The first time I ate there I thought I was back in Japan. The staff a excellent, as you would expect in a good Japanese restaurant. The food is interesting and very good. It is a place I enjoy going back to as often as I can.

Warm sake on a cold night was perfect. We enjoyed healthy dishes tofu dishes and Udon noodle soup. The service was good although an unexpected influx of customers on this Sunday night caught them a little short staffed. Never-the-less the food was lovely and the wait staff friendly.

Kingfish was not fresh enough for sashimi Grilled saba and chicken karage were too salty Tuna tataki tasted strange with raw sprouts Bathroom no toilet roll Kitchen poor housekeeping Won't recommend if you are a genuine Japanese food lover.

We came as a group of 9 and ordered a vast array of dishes. It was all delicious! The service was polite and helpful and the atmosphere was quaint. Réservez une table maintenant
