I have been to this restaurant around 5 times. The service is usually pretty good. This last time service fell WAY BELOW my expectations. Apparently a big party had just ended and the staff was busy putting tables and chairs back in place it felt like my waiter would have rather do the busy work than deal with taking my order. The hostess offered us a few children 's menus great. My boys were not interested but my daughter was happy to color and do the puzzles available on the menu. The food was large portion family style. My grilled octopus was tasty; my friend’s chicken parmigiana wasn’t at all. The arugula salad was large quantity but not baby arugula and the poached pear was bland, salad dressing was not flavorful either. What bother us was the restaurant has such wonderful space but was not taken care of. The plants are not watered and many are dead. The drink menu was unspecific — there are only the choice of wine by glass but no maker and Year of the wine, a taste was not offered. This is my third time at Allora in a month. The food is consistently good, ambiance great and the service is inconsistent. I personally think that the staff is stretched and overworked. Our waiter and I initially didn't seem to gel. He was abrupt and pushy. I requested several times to be given time to review the menu as we had a little one with us and trying to decide what she preferred to eat. He seemed to be irritated with that. Eventually, towards the middle of the meal, he seems to calm down and was less abrasive. This I might add is not typical of the staff there. They are always friendly if not obviously overwhelmed. The restaurant was too busy for Father’s Day. They were short staffed only one waiter for entire outside area. I felt bad for the guy he seemed so overwhelmed. Not right . The food was only okay that day maybe considering the people. We didn’t even get bread on our table and my daughter had to wait ten minutes to get cheese for her pasta and by that time it was cold and she gave up on eating it. Everytime you try to get a waiter to help you, they were like we will be right back . Upon arriving they sat us outside and I noticed they lit everyone with kids outside, which wasn’t right. We will give this place one more try but it was a total thumbs down for that day .

I met my friend from Westchester here. Very convenient place to meet- there is plenty of parking. The restaurant is nicely appointed and spacious. You aren’t sitting on top of people. We were there at lunchtime and had years of catching up to do. The meal was well paced and were never rushed to leave. My friend and I split an Allora salad and arugula pizza. Both were fresh and delicious. Portions were large and had leftover to take home. Definitely worth the trip. I would return.
I enjoy dining at Allora s I brought my out of town friend here. Food was delicious as usual but the service was very slow so we had to wait for a while for each item we asked. Hope the service will be a bit faster and also, check on your guests. Our server didn't take down the menu and kept asking the same question a few times. Hope this won't happen again.
Overall a very basic and underwhelming Saturday afternoon brunch. Many parties were going on so the restaurant seemed a bit overwhelmed and especially noisy, our table service was inattentive and the meal was good but not anything special.
Allora was very loud, chairs were extremely uncomfortable and our appetizers came before our drinks. Service was average and octopus app was expensive and a small portion

The service and the food were excellent! Next time we are in Queens we will definitely dine there again .
Food was solid quality. Service was adequate. Waiter was not too friendly. Great parking for queens .
