American Steakhouse

We went last week to our Meriden staple. It was horrible and disappointing. The only reason we stayed was that it was my son's birthday and he wanted to go. We've been going for my whole life, that will be the last. They still charge for the buffet, there is no buffet. You're allowed 1 pre-made salad- no choice of items- and 1 pre-scooped mac or potato salad. There are a couple soups, tortilla chips and sauce where the salad bar was, but someone will scoop what you can have. They now charge extra for the cheese that used to be in the salad bar. The only thing that was decent was the baked potato. If I could give it zero I would. Don't waste your time or money.

I ordered the steak and shrimp for my wife and myself today. The steak was slightly overcooked (medium rare), which is understandable for takeout. However, the fried shrimp were burnt, which really ruined the meal. It seems like either the food is served hot or not at all. Everything was always excellent last year, and now I'm quite disappointed.

Due to the fake pandemic, they removed the Salad Bar Mini buffet, and the staff mentioned that it won't be returning. This restaurant was the last place reminiscent of the Bonanza Ponderosa-style salad bar buffets from back in the day in my experience. Buffets have become too expensive to maintain, which is really disappointing.

Overall, it was a good experience. The T-bone steak had an unusual taste, but they replaced it without any hesitation, and the second serving was perfect. I did feel that the staff wasn't as attentive as at the Bridgeport location, but they were friendly. We would recommend this restaurant. Réservez une table maintenant

Fast, friendly affordable service with very tasty cooked to order a la carte beef, chicken, seafood an dessert selections. (a baked potato, slice of texas-toast an snip of fresh parsley is included with your selected protein dish)

I love this place... my only complaint is that the salad bar is still closed. It's a little, but it's always been good. PLEASE reopened. My family goes to the buffet down the street instead of coming here where we would prefer.

I always have a great experience here. The steak is tender and flavorful, all at a reasonable price. I ordered the steak and ribs, which came with a salad and a loaded baked potato. Everything was delicious!

It's one of my favorite dining spots. The food is excellent, and the prices are even better. The seating area could use a bit more cleaning, but I would definitely recommend it. Réservez une table maintenant
