We stopped there for a late lunch and found very few locals in the restaurant. Of course all of them spoke German, but us. However, the service was friendly and they tried their best to comunicate with us in english. We ordered three different soups and baked potatoes. The soups were great. I loved the gullassoupe and my family liked a lot the knödell something soups. On your way to Serfaus area, you may definitely stop by for some girceries right in front of Anton's and have a lunch with locals.
Given the food in our own hotel was not that great, we decided toch look for another place which could give us a better impression of the Austrian kitchen. The card is rather limited, but on the other hand it also indicates that they work with fresh products. Besides the typical dishes they also offer hamburgers, which are realy good. The portions of all these dishes are extensive and you can be sure that you have eaten enough. A place where we would come back on our next trip to Ehrwald.
Having read the reviews on TripAdvisor I went to Anton's with some friends on our stay in Ehrwald. While the food was ok, it was nothing special, certainly not as good as the previous reviews had hinted at. Service was slow, courteous but humourless and lacking the friendliness we'd received elsewhere on our stay. We're mentally maintaining our own popularity list of the restaurants we've visited on our stay and this one is currently bottom. Distinctly average.
Picked Anton's after reading reviews. Nothing fancy but great value, tasty food. We all (5) had different things and everyone was happy. Waitress was friendly, chatty if a little eccentric but in a good way. If you want a nice happy, good value evening out then enjoy but if you want a more upmarket experience its not for you. After having tried several restaurants in Ehrwald I just had to come back to Anton's. Every single dish is superbly prepared. Both taste and presentation are sublime. In addition, the waiting staff was very kind and fast with service. This is certainly one of the better restaurants U have visited, and without a doubt the best in Ehrwald.
