Avondale Common House Distillery

I tried the vegan pulled heel BBQ sandwich and shared the black bean hummus with my table. The naan and hummus were somewhat bland, so I added lemon and garlic before finishing the leftovers the next day. The BBQ sandwich was decent; the texture of the pulled heifer was surprisingly good, but I found the sauce too sweet for my taste. I probably wouldn't order it again. I also noticed that some menu items were mislabeled as “v” for vegan when they should have been marked “vg” for vegetarian (like the cheese sauce, for instance). By the way, there's a fantastic vegan grilled cheese just down the road that I would recommend instead! This review has been updated since the previous one on June 19...

My boyfriend and I recently went on a cross-country road trip, and I discovered this gem on Happy Cow. We decided to start with the buffalo cauliflower and fried green tomatoes, both of which are vegan and absolutely delicious! We also shared the Alabama veggie plate, and they kindly provided us with an extra plate for easier sharing. It was phenomenal as well! Just a note: if I could give this place 5 stars through the app, I definitely would!

My bf and I were just traveling through on a cross-country road trip and I found this gem on Happy Cow. We had the Buffalo Cauliflower and Fried Green Tomatoes to start. Placed a takeout order today after viewing their menu. They have indicators for Vegan Options with 2 Appetizers and 2 Entree Choices. I had the Vegan “Steak” Chimichurri Wrap and it was fresh and delicious.

Great vegan options and VERY knowledgeable staff who knows what vegan is! We tried the fried green tomatoes, vegan oat tacos, and vegan BBQ chicken sandwich. All delicious!
