My friend and I were treated to the “Sparkling Aternoon Tea”. What a treat it was! The atmosphere and decor is warm and relaxed. We were on table 17 which looks out over Northallerton High Street and offers a great opportunity to people watch! We had a choice of wine and took the server, Laura’s , advice and decided on the pink muscat. Great choice. It complimented the food perfectly. Shea brought out the food and it looked amazing! My friends and I enjoyed the Wednesday special, a fabulous burger with salad, coleslaw and triple cooked chips. We were shown to our seat by Shea. The Bistro was very busy but we were lucky enough to get a window seat. Our server, Sarah talked through the menu. We all decided on the special of the day burger, it came in a fabulous pretzel bun, I have only seen these in New York so we had to try it, we weren’t dissatisfied, absolutely delicious. Just had afternoon tea in Barkers 1882 Bistro. It was excellent. The staff were very friendly and attentive despite being very busy. The Bistro was clean and comfortable with plenty of room between tables. The food was beautifully served and as much tea/coffee as we wanted. Couldn't have been better.
We had the most delicious breakfast. The standard of food was of the highest quality, the service was excellent. Each member of staff we met was friendly and helpful and the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. We will certainly return. Highly recommend.

My wife and I go regularly to Barkers 1882 Bistro for breakfast and really like it. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the food and drink is delightful as is the decor and surroundings. I can highly recommend this bistro as the best around.
Barkers cafe is an excellent place to go with friends. The cafe staff are amazing and give an excellent service . There is an assortment of scones and cakes delicious.
Ordered poached eggs came really quickly once I cut into them They were raw and under cooked did get refunded but was made to feel awkward in the cafe
Staff at this cafe were just delightful helpful friendly nothing was too much trouble always enjoy the visit go back two or three times a week

Always a good choice of menu with daily specials. Excellent food and service. Been here many times and it never disappoints.
