After encountering a few issues with my lamps (which were not the store's fault), the manager from the lighting department handled my concerns quickly and professionally, showing great understanding.
Recently, I discovered that the legs of the chairs I bought eight months ago were the wrong color, but I only realized this when we opened the boxes last month. I made a quick phone call to the store, and a very helpful lady managed the situation efficiently. My new chair legs arrived today, delivered by two friendly young men.

My wife and I visited Extra-City on July 7, 2022, for the first time. The atmosphere is relaxed, allowing you to stroll around comfortably. Assistance is readily available when needed, and I would like to give special recognition to Gary on the loading floor, who is very knowledgeable about the products. The café is a must-visit as well. Overall, it was one of the most enjoyable shopping experiences we've had, and we definitely plan to return. It's also worth the trip from Washington, Tyne and Wear.
Nicely appointed shop with good range of furniture, made to measure curtains, kitchen bits and bobs, cushions light shades etc. Ended up buying two upholstered dining chairs. Cafe is ok, we ordered rarebit and Yorkshire rarebit, got basic cheese on toast. Will be going back to look at sofas but not to the cafe, more interesting places in town to eat.
The wife and myself, popped in for lunch to celebrate our 19th anniversary. As the wife has to work. A really fantastic and tasty sausage bacon bap. Really enjoyable. I also had a slice of apple crumble with a caramel topping. It looked better than it tasted. A shame, it may just not have been to my taste.

Charming establishment with exceptionally helpful and courteous staff. The café is fantastic, offering delicious freshly made sandwiches. It was also my friend's first time being able to choose between white or brown gluten-free bread! Thank you, Barkers!
large selection of furniture and household goods. all of sofas, beds, carpets, garden furniture, ornaments and household goods. also a very nice caffe. the personal is refreshingly honest about delivery times.
Always like to go to barkers home when I visit family. Good parking and free. Lots of different departments to wander around and then treat yourself to a nice coffee and cake.
Quality products and friendly staff and atmosphere. Periodic sales offer fair discounts. Decent cafe too!
