The typical definition of Asian-Fusion, is defined by the combination of Asian and Western cuisine into something completely new and different. Not so here. Basil Leaf defines their fusion restaurant as a combination of popular, traditional dishes from a collection of countries in South East Asia. For example, pho from Vietnam, fried noodles from Singapore, laksa from Malaysia, Indonesia or Southern Thailand. The individual dishes are not fused in any way. Have had lunch there many times and almost always have the coconut curry soup with crispy tofu. It is huge and I always take half home for lunch the next day.The black pepper tofu appetizer is excellent too. The staff is very friendly and you are always greeted as soon as you come in the door. Going for dinner tonight so hopefully it will be just as good!FYI, they are closing for 2 weeks over Chinese new year.
Everything was so good we wished this restaurant would bring a franchise to our home town. Best spring rolls ever, and we eat a lot of veiynamese food. Really yummy curry and sesame chicken. We are so much! Nice decor and artwork, good service. Out of the way location in the suburbs but definitely glad we checked it out.
First time I went here I got the ginger beef and it was so good. Sauce is great and the beef was tender. Rice was also fluffy and not dry. Next visit I had the pho, and although it's not the best I've ever had it was still the best I've had in the Okanagan.I now frequent this place ad it's comfortable and close to home.
Our favourite Thai restaurant was closed, so we tried the Basil Leaf Asian Fusion for a late lunch / early dinner. We were not at all disappointed. Service was good and the wonton soup, the lemongrass chicken as well as the noodle dish we chose were absolutely delicious.
Visited from Ontario and our friends in Kelowna recommended the Basil Leaf. Great menu. Was hard to decide. All the dishes we ordered were exceptional! Try the Laska Soup! It is fantastic! Prices are good and portions are generous. Plain and simple I want to go back.
