My husband and I visited here by chance this evening with our 3 children after another restaurant had made a mistake with our booking and was unable to seat us. Trying to think of somewhere else, my husband called the Bay Horse and luckily for us they had just had a cancellation but advised they were busy and that there could be a bit of a wait for food. We were greeted by a number of friendly staff on arrival and I must say, the service throughout the evening really stood out. All staff were attentive and friendly and I didn 't feel we had any longer wait than I would expect, despite being busy. We visited this restaurant while on vacation in the village. The staff welcomed us warmly. The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Our drink orders were taken and brought promptly. Although there was a short wait for our meals, it was understandable as the restaurant was very busy. We enjoyed our food, which was cooked with fresh, local ingredients and was well cooked, nicely presented, and served very hot. Overall, it was a lovely place to eat.
Looking for light lunch so had a starter of spicy fishcake and ordered a side of chips and it was just right. Decent quality food here and good friendly service by a group of young waitresses. Would come again.
