My first time buying here. To start with I have to say on a posative note, my Mother said fish and mushy peas were lovely. On a negative note, I had taken Mum out for the morning (83yrs of age and always like to treat her to fish, mushy peas and a few chips on our days out. I asked the server if she would throw a few chips on, only 5/6 (as most fish and chip shops do anyway! and she stated she was not allowed to do that? However, I could have a small portion of chips. I explained that my Mother would not be able to eat that amount and I was willing to pay 50p for 5/6 chips. (Not even a potato's worth! I am disappointed to say that my recent experience at Bell Lane Fisheries was extremely disappointing. This used to be one of my favorite places for fish and chips, but it seems that the quality has drastically declined. I ordered fish, chips, curry, and a breadcake and was shocked to find that the chips were only half cooked and stored in a tray under the counter, covered in oil. The portion size was small, the fish was tiny, and to make matters worse, I was given gravy instead of the curry I had requested. Starting with the positives, the service was friendly and efficient, and the quality of the fish was good. The chips were also decent. However, the portion size of the fish and chips was small, and the batter on the chips was pale. The mushy peas were unappetizing in both color and taste, and the curry sauce was thin. It's a shame because this restaurant used to be a favorite, but unfortunately, we will not be returning.

The chips I received from this chip shop were the worst I've ever had. It seems a staff member didn't show up, but that's no excuse for serving such terrible food. The chips were cold and extremely hard, as if they had been cooked the day before. I will not be returning to this restaurant again. Réservez une table maintenant

This is a beautiful fish and chip shop we don't go anywhere else.The fish is cooked to order so it's lovely and fresh and the chips are always good.The peas and curry sauce are always lovely too.The staff are really polite and friendly

Fish ok. Chips a complete waste of money. Think they had been sat there sometime. Stone cold, dried up and hard.
