I had mine here on the 15th august. the personal ignored us. we were placed in a back room and had to search server for water. high tea was a urn with tee bags. there were 30 people with 1 animal for 10 people 3 total. most of my family were hungry, even me. sandwiches had been omitted and were stale. My girlfriend and I went here for dinner on a Friday night. Upon first inspection we didn't quite expect it would be a pub' type atmosphere and almost went elsewhere. The separate formal dining area is nice but you can hear the live music and despite the white table cloths, left a casual vibe. There was one waitress who was pleasant. Service was a touch slow for a restaurant that had maybe two to three other dining tables but I suppose when you only have one waitress on, it'd be hard for them to be attentive. melbourne cupne day 2014. also we visited the melbourne cup at berkley’s and had the best day! my partner enjoyed the filet mignon that was cooked to a perfect med rare as it should be while I enjoyed my preorganized vegetarian option. gary was a joy to work on it and nothing was too difficult until the day. NEW MENU AND CHEFS!. With a new menu and amazing lunch specials we had the BEST meal in brisbane, that ive ever had in over 16 years... The lunch specials (of which we ordered all.. arrived with in 10 minutes and were HOT, FRESH, and from locally sourced ingredients. There were MANY vegetarian and vegan options not to mention gluten intolerant. The place was PACKED! we booked ahead of time for our party of 6 and have returned EVERY working day since.. This place is perfectly located in the city and seats well over 50. WE are forever impressed by the weekly changing specials and return almost DAILY!
Attended the Melbourne cup function with my work colleagues today. The cost was $64.00 a head. I had requested a vegetarian meal. My main was a bed of baby spinach leaves straight out of a bag with no dressing not even a speck of salt and pepper decorated with leftover sweat potato crisps which were from the garnish of the entree. The desert was 1 strawberry sliced with 5 grapes and 1 piece of pineapple
Seriously? The best they can manage for a vegetarian meal (or Something More is a Caesar Salad?! And no vegetarian option at all for a lunch special? Oh wait, no, there's also a pizza. Wow. Am I expected to pick at a couple of Something to Share"s? I'm not asking for a complete vegetarian menu, of course, but it'd be nice to have another option or two.
best staff in the city. I came a few nights ago after berkleys when my working friend had told me how good it was and I was not let off, I was served by 3 young ladies bretagne, zoe and ele and they were absolutely charming. Eating was simply amazing, possibly the best I ever had eaten. defiantly will come back.
