Berto's is an Italian deli and pasta shop located in the heart of Downers Grove on Main Street. They offer daily lunch specials Monday through Friday, with my personal favorite being the freshly-made lasagna. In addition to their fresh and frozen pastas, they also sell various cheeses, salads, sandwiches, and other specialties. The cozy dining area is perfect for small groups or families to enjoy a meal together. By calling ahead, you can have your order ready for pickup, although you may find yourself adding extra items like freshly-made mozzarella or artichoke salad, just like I always do.
Grabbed lunch here the other day I had the meatball sandwich, Italian Wedding soup AND tried Justin's Chili. All fantastic best meatball sandwich around, hands down. Cooked and seasoned perfectly (not too much garlic like many places do), delicious sauce. Justin and Vickie were friendly, welcoming and made sure we were taken care of. Very cozy, clean place and overall it was an awesome experience!!
We visited a charming, classic Italian deli sandwich shop. We tried the meatball sub and Italian beef sandwiches with hot peppers, both of which were delicious. The hot peppers added a nice kick of heat. We also ordered some pasta salad to take with us. The counter service was very friendly. We will definitely be returning again in the future!
all these negative commentaries do not know what they are talking about, I will choose bertos over subway, jimmy johns at any time. great mother pop shop, trojan sandwich toasted it is a must! Janice employees always do it! support local stop whining. grazie mille!

annas sub. the brot was so hard I have to see a dentist. there was really no meat on the sandwich and I think the subway is better. 12 dollar for a six inch part of concrete without meat and a pepsi. we are. the quality down and jack the prices.
Eating is amazing, every time. I just don't understand why a blonde girl on the counter never smiles. you eat is good, lady! eat something suppe that you feel better.
Great local deli! Customer service was welcoming and friendly. Owner is very invested in the community naming multiple sub sandwiches after the schools in the area.
Despite the long wait due to the restaurant being very busy, the Berto's sub and meatball sandwiches were absolutely delicious and well worth it.
