We went to this restaurant for dinner in the evening and after reading some reviews, we decided to make a reservation. Upon arrival, we were surprised by how rude the bar staff were - very unprofessional and unhelpful. We considered finishing our drinks and leaving, but since it was late, we decided to order. What a mistake that was! The Lamb Shank appeared to be frozen, the mashed potatoes were instant, and the green beans were from a can. It is best to avoid this place at all costs.
Wouldn’t bother wasting your time coming to this pub. We went in with 2 friends one evening and my friend went to the bar, waited ages to be served even though it was dead, wasn’t acknowledged by the person working behind the bar which is just so rude especially when you’re stood there for a while and doesn’t give that ‘warm welcome’ you expect in a small village. Not that nice inside either, lacking seating and just general atmosphere. Definitely will not be going again.
My wife and I popped into the Black Horse just before our arrival at The Manor and because it was the only local pub open on aTuesday. The establishment is extremely tired looking. The meals we had were mediocre at best! There were a number of guests having meals and we got the impression from the familiarity between them and the staff that they were frequent local diners. Will drive past next!
Just had a wonderful Sunday Lunch at the Black Horse in Tollerton with my family. There were 8 of us and the staff couldn’t have been more welcoming and helpful. Vegans, children and meat lovers were all well accommodated, and the food was really beautifully cooked and tasty! This is a small, friendly, cozy pub, exactly what was needed and we shall be returning again. Réservez une table maintenant
We are staying near by we have been into the pub twice and ordered take away. Great family run pub, that makes those outside of the village really welcome. The family that run it are lovely, really chatty, down to earth people. Food is proper honest pub grub, at a reasonable price. They do a great pint of hobgoblin too. Would definitely recommend.
The staff at this restaurant were wonderfully friendly and the atmosphere was great. We were staying nearby and visited three nights in a row, with everyone being very friendly each time. We tried their pizza one night and found it to be delicious and generously sized. We would highly recommend this pub and will definitely be returning.
arrived in tollerton to celebrate family occasion in nearby converted barn and bay house literally across the road, went for a meal large party of us and the food was fantastic, freshly cooked no faults at all. Nice and welcoming definitely recommend
We went for a Sunday dinner I had lamb and my husband had the beef the plate was full with fresh vegetables and all the trimmings and it was delicious. We will be going back again. The staff were friendly and helpful. Réservez une table maintenant
I love this small, traditional pub with friendly locals. I try to go there most weekends and wish I could go more often. I'll definitely be back as soon as I can.
