DO NOT SUPPORT THIS ESTABLISHMENT.... Our food was ok.. the waiter was attentive.. ALLIE, the owner, is a terrible business woman.. we literally watched an elderly woman wait over 15 min for coffee and when she confronted Allie about it, Allie told her not to come on Sundays because it 's too busy and she didn 't have time.. when I confronted Allie about how she treated the woman she said she 's here every day, she 's crazy ... I said she 's here every day and that 's how you treat your regular customers? Then Allie 's husband came out and they tried to say that they 're short staffed.. I told them Allie is the reason they are short staffed.. it 's not worth the time and money to be treated...
I find their service to be lazy especially in recent events. I ordered a waffle for takeout and they gave me what was clearly a burnt waffle. I excused the matter after requesting another one. The next week I ordered the same thing...a waffle with ham. Instead they gave me uncooked broken waffle pieces I'm convinced could've been picked up off the floor. In this time of COVID, they know a majority of their orders are takeout and they throw whatever scraps they feel like in your box knowing you won't see it til you get home.
Older lady in the front was very rude and displaying racist behavior when I asked a simple question about an order. The person prior did not get the same treatment.Before I left I did say thank you! Maybe if you opened up your ears instead of focusing on other things you would have heard it. Would not visit again and this woman can burn in HELL
This restaurant review can be rewritten as: "The Village Diner is fantastic! It's a bit more spacious than other diners, although it can get crowded on busy days. The menu is typical diner fare, but the service and food quality are exceptional. Jersey diners are unique, and the Village Diner stands out as a great choice."

the place is decent. eating is decent and the price is affordable. the service can use a little work, but it was not a terrible experience. it is an ordinary place with ordinary eating and ordinary service. good place for just one ordinary day.
The food is good but the lady in the cash it counter is horrible she not a nice lady so rude from the beginning real rude. She needs to get fired . She have blonde hair /Hispanic lady the waitress is a nice person
I've never eaten so good in my life! her breakfast menu is from this world — French toast, multigrain toast, truthahnwurst, grits. They can taste the food and ingredients. best diner in nj stalls down
I work near Village Diner and order from there at least twice a week. I have tried most of the menu and the food is always great. The service is even better. I highly recommend Village Diner.

the food was good. pancakes were fluffy and the eggs were cooked exactly as I like them. the service was not there, but the waitress had either a bad day or didn't like us at all.
The service was fantastic and the staff were all very attractive. I really liked the French toast, it was so delicious that I had to split it with someone else.
