Boogies catered my employee appreciation day, and it was nothing short of fantastic. We served brisket, sausage, smoked chicken, and mac and cheese, just to name a few dishes. My employees absolutely loved the food. They were really disappointed when the mac and cheese ran out—I guess I didn't order enough, haha! They raved that the brisket was the best they'd ever had. Since many of my over 200 employees are from outside Houston, it was great to hear everyone say the food was absolutely delicious. I provided Boogies with our headcount, and their recommendations were spot on (well, aside from the mac and cheese situation, of course). I would definitely give them a 10/10 and recommend Boogies...
The atmosphere and decor were reminiscent of a classic rib joint from Chicago. The rib tips and wings were delightful, and I enjoyed a refreshing Kool-Aid mixed with lemonade and fruit punch. The rib tips were fantastic, both with and without sauce, though I opted for mild sauce on mine. You can even purchase the sauce, and they offer catering as well. If you're looking for authentic smoked barbecue reminiscent of the Midwest—complete with fries on the bottom, meat on top, sauce, and a slice of white bread—this is the go-to spot in Houston.
The posted closing hours indicate 7 PM, but when I called around 6:15, I was greeted by a rude employee who sounded uninterested in answering the phone. She bluntly informed me that they were closed. If you dislike your job, perhaps it's time to consider leaving it. It's unacceptable to be disrespectful to customers. Additionally, it's frustrating to see a closing time advertised only to be told they closed 45 minutes earlier. While the food is good, the customer service leaves much to be desired.
If you are looking for good, authentic Chicago barbecue, this is the place it is mouthwatering it is hot. It is cooked fresh when you order fried chicken hamburgers french fries etc it is so good that I drive almost an hour to buy it Boogie is so awesome I’ve been following him since he had a food truck on the southwest side and I’m so proud to be able to walk into his brick and mortar in Mo city. I love their food but I was very disappointed today. I was really looking Forward some chopped beef. I called to place an order at 540pm and was told that they were not taking anymore orders because they are closed. Both google and the website say that they close at 7pm on Saturdays. Please correct the hours because I drove to this side for nothing.
We reached out to boogies for a corporate event and they provided excellent customer service, great food, at a fair price. They made it easy for us to show up and have a good time! We didn’t have to worry about anything besides enjoying the amazing food! I highly recommend if you are looking for good bbq to have them cater!
