I have never had a pork knuckle before and the only ones I've seen are from a restaurant I work at. The smell of the pork knuckle wasn't pleasing so I was hesitant. I figured since I was in Germany, I might as well try the pork knuckle and I was floored. It was amazing, although I wasn't the big fan of the sauerkraut. The trout was amazingly seasoned, and the potatoes compliments the trout enough. I didn't manage to try the Black Forest cake though.
We tried all local foods like pork knuckle, German sausage and tenderloin steak. Pork knuckle was good, also the steak...but sausage was average, even under our expectation. We know German sausages is the best, so we expect highly of it. The place was good with nice field view. The cafe was upstair from the shop.
We went to this restaurant in a group of 7. Even though it wasn't particularly busy the service was really slow, inattentive and they always forgot some of the orders. Food was not too bad, meat a bit overcooked but well, some might like it that way - overall a rather disappointing experience.
Was here as part of my tour-group lunch. Had a generous serving of pork knuckle! Had the German sausage as well which was delicious! The black forest cake (dessert) was not up to expectation though. Waiters are fast and responsive. Nice ambience though. Réservez une table maintenant
food was tasty, waiters so fast did their job, location is apposite of Titisee lake. You can enjoy the view with a cup of coffee. The best dishes i like was Pork Knuckle is very BIG for human beings LOL....
Recommended to us as being the best place to try the Black Forest Cake. Three out of four sampled the Black Forest Cake which was OK but certainly nothing spectacular. Have has just as good elsewhere.
I was appalled by the senior waiters in this place - they stood behind the bar loudly complaining about a younger colleague and his "incompetence". Food was nothing to write home about either.
good and simple local food and lots of beers and wine by the glass. service is friendly and quick. prices are reasonable and the location is just a bit away from centre. Réservez une table maintenant
Since we are in Germany, one has to try the pork knuckle here. The fries and sauerkraut is tasty too. Wash that all down with the local beer to wrap up the meal.
